It's simple math. Let's the rez of your main monitor is 10x10 ( keep it simple ) each number in your rez is a single pixel. So the top left corner in x,y is 0,0. The bottom right corner is 10 pixels over and 10 pixels down, so 10,10. The middle is 5,5. See? So if you want have a MFCD right under your 10x10 display it would 0,11. Now this bottom display is smaller, 5x5. So the second MFCD would be to the right of the first one. Since they are 5 pixels wide the second one would be 6,11. To get your aspect ratio divide your height by width, so 2560/1600 = 1.6

Yes. You are simply changing the size of the large 'canvas' With the monitors underneath your overall re becomes 2200x2650. Your center Rez doesn't change because the physical size of your monitor doesn't change. It's still 2560x1600. The top left corner of your Dell is still 0,0, you are just adding other monitors under it in the virtual space. So your first mfcd monitor would have x=0 as it starts on the left edge, but the y=1601. Your second mfcd would then be beside it so your x=801 and the y=1601. Do you see how the pattern happens?

Yes, you need the U3011 first (left most) then the 2 lilliputs side by side in the display settings to the right, so 2560+800+800. DCS doesn't care how many monitors are attached to the computer as it only renders one large scene to display across all your monitors. So your in game rez has to be the 4160x1600 In this one large canvus of 4160 you tell it to display the main screen starting at the top left corner (x=0,y=0) and the height=1600 and width=2560. This will then fill your main monitor with the cockpit like a normal single monitor setup. You then define the first mfd of having x=2561 and y=0 with height=600 and width=800. DCS still sees this as a single large display, but it will show the mfd on your second monitor. Finally you give the 3rd monitor an x=3361 and everything else the same.

You need your main monitor as your left most monitor, then your desktop extended to the 2 screens side by side to the right of your main display. It doesn't matter where they physically are on your desk, your main display has to be setup as the left most monitor as the x/y coordinates start from the top left corner at 0,0. For your x/y coordinates your main screen will be 0,0 so that the cockpit displays properly. Since your main monitor is 2560 pixels across the x/y for your first mfd would be x=2561 and the y=0. for your second mfd you add the 800 pixel width to your first so x=3361. Does that make sense?

Exported all my A-10C displays in DCS World - mostly
DayGlow replied to Scooternutz's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
bump. I've finally got around to dl'ing DCS World and trying to setup Helios with the A-10. I've got the gauges working, but other than the MFCD's I can't get any of the other displays to export properly. Even with PeterP's scripts and running his example.lua none of the displays are exporting. -
I have a touchscreen for Helios and DCS, but for the most part it sits unused on my desk. Considering I already have a triple monitor setup it's a lot of space. It doesn't seem Helios is expanding any time soon as the people involves have real life getting in the way. I'm considering selling it as other than DCS it doesn't get used.

Anyone not seen Helios in Action with DCS A10-C
DayGlow replied to Loz's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Has Helios development and expansion for DCS World modules stalled because of real world commitments? I'd love to see new modules as the 3rd party modules come out, but there seems to be a lot of inactivity on the development forums. -
And I would have no issue if ED created their own IFF system based on how it works in real life, even if it's just an approximation of what the classified system works like. I think it's important enough to gameplay, especially now that DACT and force on force style games are possible.
-
Now that we have multiple aircraft being developed for DCS World, will there be an IFF system to help with force on force play? I know it wasn't implemented in DCS A-10 because its classified, but now it will be needed really. Will there be an approximated system in the future?

Ran across a strange issue trying to start the Devil's Cross campaign. During my startup my plane will always start rolling forward with my engines at idle throwing off my alignment. I've double checked that my throttle is at idle and calibrated, even tried keeping my toe brakes on and I still roll. Checked with other missions with a ramp start and I'm fine, no movement, go back into the campaign and I'm rolling forward. Is the airfield I'm on have a slant to it?

Hmm, rough seas, almost like we will have to be landing on a pitching carrier deck in the future....

Would I love a 3D pit? Of course, I just don't expect it for free, which the SU-25 is. My issue with you is your language. Last time I checked the SU-25 is far ahead of "1980's crap" and telling the devs to "get their shit together" is beyond acceptable. Your coming off as a complete goof.

I personally won't disparage a free gift myself.

It would be nice to be able to run DCS World in a different resolution and windowed than the modules. This way it would be easier to load custom profiles to controls and use other 3rd party programs (teamspeak, etc)

Nvidia 680 GTX Inbound
DayGlow replied to Terminal Meltdown's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
If you are running x3 screens you start to hit the ceiling of VRAM when you turn up AA. With 2gb card if you are running around 5760x1080 and x8 AA you can hit the VRAM ceiling. Now if you system could run at that Rez and AA then you may want more, but realistically you will never push it far. -
Voice Command & Speech Recognition Software
DayGlow replied to jaqknife's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I used to have game commander back in the day and it works quite well. I'm happy with VAC now though. I do like being able to multiple voice phrases for the same single command. Makes natural language easier as you don't have to say the same phrase every time. -
5x camera in portrait graphical sky bug
DayGlow replied to trigen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm guessing you have it setup as x5 individual cameras which will cause the distortion. I know with the x3 camera setup it designed for the side screens to be 90deg to the front one ie |_|. Also since the engine is rendering 5 viewports the performance would be horrible. You should setup a single camera profile for your total combined resolution ( I ruse x3 landscape so 5760x1080). -
Afghanistan for the variaty if terrain. CAS on a side of a mountain or narrow valley would be interesting.

So you won't buy the next fast jet sim because of this? Many people aren't that interested in the P-51, but you think it will turn them off of the whole series?
-
Wait, it's self-serving for ED to make the sim they want with the aircraft of their decision? Are you a shareholder in control of the majority of shares? Otherwise that's exactly what they are doing and have been doing since their first sim. Building what they want and what they think will sell. They have been self-serving since its how they choose to make a living. If you don't want to buy the sim, that's your choice and there's nothing wrong to post how you disagree with the choice, but your language and attitude is over the top.
