thanks guys... so it gets rid of all the centre play? whats the spring weight like... the cougar (without the rubber boot) is too heavy to get diagnals with ROF .... the NXT softer springs ?

Hey guys the next run of IJ's NXT mod is going to be available soon. Now this is going to cost me Ј227 for it! For those of you with it can you give me some info.... What its like... Worth the outlay? I've already done the throttle and stick mods with hall sensors and am we'll happy with them. But oh my good the stick is heavy for Rise of flight ... But has eliminated the shakey spiking and the duff throttle so was worth the money. Its either a NXT kit or another SSD (may order 2 - just getting round to ordering the first one) Let me know your thoughts. I'm sure the stick will last years and will be the final mod - its just a big outlay right now.

ok here we go. It seems I have a crap edition 5870 XXX card... have to underclock memory to 1275 (instead of factory 1300) ... so running I7 @ 4ghz... 5870 @ 900 1275 Windows 7 ultimate min 0 max 201 avg 66, 594 AA 4 x AF 8 x RMA`ing the card though.

The card is factory overclocked.... An xfx xxx 5870. Seems its a duff card and will run only stock. IBT runs fine at 4ghz ...after 20 runs.... Just trying 4.2 just for fun...getting hot hot hot now tho.

hey dan - how would you like me to test the frame rate ? Im just testing to see if 4.2ghz is stable.... windows boots up and temps are ok - obviously no load yet tho. My problem at the mo seems to be the 5870 - its an XFX XXX version overclocked... and it dont seem to want to play overclocked.... just testing whether its ok at stock .... seems ok so far. get that I7 cranked up :)

Think ill be ordering ssd tomorrow... Just reading up on which to get. They small though! But I have 1tb of sata in there as we'll so not a problem.

I7 @ 4ghz stable 6gb ram XFX 5870 xxx raptors in raid0 to be replaced by Intel SSD ..... then finally finished. Just quickly loaded up the demo flights @ 1900 x 1200 (my max monitor res) and its super smooth..... I remember when I `built` the last rig for DCS .... QX6700 and 8800GTX lol Will be interesting to see how the SSD performs..... not so much in DCS but windows use and maybe FSX... will keep you posted. :megalol:

and I bought Rise Of Flight ... and it ran pretty rubbish on this QX6700 rig @ 1920 x 1200 (understandably) so maybe I can max it up when new stuff comes.... One day will be able to have water on high lol in lock on ;)

well apparently the NVIDIA stuff wont be here till maybe May.... Ive just found the following card in stock ... with me by wednesday :) XFX ATI Radeon HD 5870 XXX 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card This should do the trick - in 2 minds whether to order a SSD for Windows.... will let you know how this setup pans out. pity though - will have to I7 with me old 8800 GTX tomorrow till ATI card comes !

I`ll be invoicing you for the hardware you `made` me buy ;) I7 + Mobo + 6gb ram comes tomorrow :) Hopefully this will be a nice 4ghz overclock... got the megahalem here ready to cool too. Just need GFX card now.... not sure whether to go 5850 or 5870.... Am not gonna go beyond 1920 x 1200 .. so maybe the 5870 is overkill... could always put in another 5850 later.....

am in the same boat mate. just ordered a new I7 - mobo - 6gb ram but left the gfx for now... well mainly because the 5800 series is mainly pre order...... Im going for ther 5870 .... I think...... but then I might go 5850 and get an SSD drive for OS and few games.... FSX on SSD special ?

after having a go for a while now (wife gone out so no laughing ;) ) ive still got this look down issue.... If I increase the speed slider it looks down better but too fast... if I decrease the slider then it looses tracking. Seems ok in the trackir software... just seems to be a block in DCS cockpit.

This sounds a good solution..... can you make a fix to stop 'wife' laughing at 'silly cap with thing on' while I play 'Helicopter Games' ...... shhhheeesh will they ever learn ?! ;) Thanks for your help.

yeah these are a few second hand cards on a forum for sale... gone are the days where I get the latest CPU and GFX ... ouch ! thing is direct X 11 wont affect the games I play...... FSX - IL2 - Lockon / DCS - Iracing.

maybe have the option of getting a EVGA 9800 gtx 2 or EVGA gtx 280 super clocked or Sapphire 4870 x2 for not much money ... kinda £80-100 after selling my card - a BFG 8800 GTX OC (768gb) you guys reckon Ill see much difference or am I better sorting out CPU (again!) first ? am running QX6700 @ 3.2 ghz ... .no more due to heat. and the 8800 at the original BFG overlclock.... windows 7 and 4 gig ram... 150 gb raptors in raid 0 oh and on a 24" monitor @ 1920 x 1200 so dont need any higher ;)

had a play - works well.... left and right up down works well.... just trying to sort out the Z axis so I dont have to lean forward so much .... I gather I can setup each axis individually by changing just the Z axis curves ?

AWESOME! Im using the original trackhat that I got with my trackir 3.... seems a bit strange that the extra bit on the front of the cap was throwing it off ---- quick colour in with black marker pen has fixed it..... and the bend was always on the cap - straightened it and a lot better. Just got to set it up a bit more - am able to pan round real smooth but when I look down bottom left towards AUTO turn buttons and zoom in it kinda looses the clip...... was just about to sell it on ! thanks a lot - appreciate it.

in the middle of the trackhat there is a silver lip... this picks up on the camera as shown in the picture.... will this `red` dot be affecting the tracking ? it seems ok in the software and then goes a little crazy in DCS after looking around. Ive disabled roll because I dont want to use that... and will probably put the Z axis to zoom in and out on the cougar throttle if its easier. at the moment it isnt much difference to the Trackir 3 I had.... got to be setup wrong.
