I've stressed this subject long time ago before, but would like to read your opinions on this: Wouldn't it be a smart idea to create a software that can be used to link different online games (like Flight sims) together ? Imagine, you could link up with you Lock-On FC on one of your friends computer using MS FS. I mean, basically it is the same stuff like coupling datalinks (using different data formats) together by using real-time converters, so that one format is translated into another and basic information can be exchanged up to a certain degree. For Lock-On, the data exchange is managed through the export.lua. I think, it is possible to develop something (maybe even based on LUA, too) that can convert and translate the dataflow generated by MS FS into Lock-On compatible data and vice versa. So aircraft position, aircraft type, HDG, SPD, ALT as the basic data could be translated into data that would be accepted and correcty be displayed by the other simulation. Your comments ?

For me, BS is of interest not because of that Helo, but only because of the bug fixes like adjusted missile and radar parameters which I expect to see. As for the question DL or CD, I now learned my lessons and will switch to CD for BS and also for FC asap, just to avoid this unreliability hazzle again.

Was this a typo ? ECCM doesn't effect radar like a jammer does (which is ECM). ECCM is the general expression used for devices or methods to minimize or neutralize the effects of ECM. You are doing them wrong. ED is a company that consist at least of Devs -> guys who do the programming Admins -> who do the coordination stuff and keep the company running (paperwork, legal stuff, facilities, resources) Marketing guys -> who try to sell the stuff that the Devs developed And the ISP - which is the problem here - is not even a company member. So don't yell at the Devs, please.

Hmmm...... how should a recce pod be simulated anyway ? :music_whistling: I was just thinking about completeness of a Recce Tornado. If it already shows the skin and markings of an AG51 aircraft, then IMHO it should carry a recce pod. BTW: There are working pods in LO/FC: ECM Pods !

I think that the total energy of jamming signals received by the radar set defines the actual burn through range. By this, the amount of energy received through the side lobes may have a negative effect, if the side lobes are not effectively blanked out. About the 1000 Watts figure: The size of the transmitter (in Watts) depends on the frequency bandwith that you intent to jam. If it's narrow (only a few KHz), the full energy will be concentrated on this small band, resulting in a much stronger jam signal which equals a close burn through range. If you have to jam a big bandwith (let's say a full GHz), the amount of jamming energy left for each single frequency is very small, thus reducing the jamming effectiveness and resulting in a long burn through range. For a small bandwith with only few frequencies (to just target at one specific radar system), 100-200 Watt would be way enough. For a wide range of frequencies covering a large bandwith, even 1000 Watts is not so impressive anymore.

Just relax, lean back, drink a beer or two and let ED do their stuff. We all have no idea what is going on in Russia and what ISP problems have to be solved to bring lockon.ru online again, but I'm sure they are all very pissed by the setbacks and delays as much as we are....

Depends on the quality of the datalink picture that the SAM receives, provided there is a datalink at all. Relying on it's own sensors, a SAM ist a turkey to be shot by let's say Tornado ECR. At sea, it's a total different thing. Nobody would dare to attack a TG with only some jets...
