  1. I made the seat part of the frame now. I am also going to make the sides where the HOTAS and mouse etc sit much wider. You can see my prototype on the right side. The rudder pedals are now secure and don't move around. Next steps are to finish the sides, add a cup holder (extremely important), add some hooks for trackir hat and headset, then paint or stain everything. Trust me, I'll post quality pics the next time I work on it. My man cave is dark (it's a cave lol) and my iPhone don't have flash.
  2. I highly suggest browsing here: http://www.overclock.net/sound-cards-computer-audio/ Pay extra attention to the stickys available.
  3. Hummm I wonder how realistic it will be in DCS... Such as the boom actually "flying" to the plane. (As opposed to just getting close and then it all being scripted)
  4. Thanks for the video! It's going to be great: DCS A-10 and TM Warthog :)
  5. AWACS Pics: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=934154&postcount=3479
  6. The power lines in the background make it look like a screenshot from LOMAC/DCS. :)
  7. AWACS Pics Here are some pics I took of the inside of an E-3 Sentry AWACS at the recent Tinker AFB airshow. I forgot to take outside pictures of it, but got detailed ones of the control stations. I was suprised that the jet was basically the same as it was back in the late 70s when they went into service. I imagine they have some modern upgraded ones but the crew claimed they knew nothing of any upgraded versions.
  8. AWACS Hey guys I took some detailed pics of the E-3 Sentry AWACS work station. I'll post a link to the thread shortly.
  9. Thanks Hitch! I know it looks hideous now, but I just had to have something. I will say, even as simple as mine is, it makes flying a different experience. I can't really describe it, but it is just better. :) I plan on adding on to it as I have time. Once I find a setup I like, I am going to paint it all black. If I really really like it, which I think I will, I will build a more presentable one, and probably use metal as well as wood.
  10. EDIT (1/3/2011): I am going to add links to other somewhat similiar pit setup: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=63840 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=62997 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=47293 I had some leftover wood from a recent shed I built... so I spent about an hour and made a pit... sort of...
  11. Hey Carol, any luck on pictures? A freebie 17" Lcd was given to me last night and it's going to be my new Shkvlalalalalkkvvsshh (that's close enough...) I am kind of getting the pit building fever again..
  12. I had one in '07. I had my fun for a spring/summer and traded it for a racing ATV (LTR-450). I had my fun though....
  13. How about those pics Carol? I have been thinking more about a pit lately. I am hoping that next summer I will be able to build a shop... I am planning on building a loft in it, finishing out the loft with drywall and carpet, and making it the mancave and simulator area. I'll keep ya updated. I will be starting a new job May 10th. I will then have all weekends off, so a summer/fall LAN meet will be much easier for me. Drew
  14. Thanks for sharing Rusty! I'll try this as soon as I have the time to fly FC2 again.
  15. Guys, here is an article I described in the LAN meet. It is a multiple-part series. I found the second part to be the most interesting. http://www.simhq.com/_air13/air_426a.html
  16. Hey guys. Let me know if you want to meet in Dallas around April 16-18. I forgot about a race I may be running in.... I need to know if we will actually be meeting or not so I can decide whether to race or come to Dallas... I may be able to pull of both since the race is actually an hour closer to Dallas than where I live. The Tinker AFB Air Show is on June 19-20. I have to work nights that weekend, but I'm still going to make it to one of the days. If anyone wants to join me, let me know. However, I won't be able to host anyone at my house like I would like to, due to my work schedule. As for FC2 and BS, I haven't had much time for them lately. That's just the way it goes sometimes...
  17. Glad it's working! I didn't see the toe brakes in the menu... I don't understand this at all... It seems so basic, maybe I overlooked it.... surely I overlooked it... surely they would put toe brakes as an axis.... I'm going to look again LOL
  18. 1) I believe you can just install FC2 alongside FC1. All that is required for FC2 is LOMAC to be installed... you have met that requirement. Patches should not be an issue either. 2) They will not be retained... I don't know of a way to transfer... I recommend a fresh start with FC2, as performance will vary from FC1 and different settings will give different results. 3) Good question! I'm not sure how it will work with FC2... Hopefully it won't have to verify the CD.
  19. How many posts on this are you going to start? ;) I responded to one of them already...
  20. I just installed FC2 last night and then flew for about an hour... From what I seen, the commands are about the same as BS. You can give your wingman commands, talk to the tower, etc. If you are interested in setting up voice activated commands, see this post: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=49421&highlight=voice+activated+commands I am using the VAC software and it works VERY well. :)
  21. I have them and they are working fine. For some reason though, when I installed FC2 it automatically mapped the throttle and pitch axis to my pedals.... About your problem... Are the pedals showing up in the Options/Controls screen?? If they are, clear out all commands in that column, then select Yaw, and simply push the pedals fully in each direction. (be careful not to hit the brake axis) Remember, this must be done for each aircraft.
  22. I engaged a Tornado... He dropped weapons and flares.... Then went boom.... and ejected.... :)
  23. Congrats! I'm working on my PL too.
  24. Anyone from the area please post. We will have periodic LAN meets in Dallas. Members: showtime817th: Dallas, TX Machinegun417: Houston, TX walker450: Shawnee, OK
