Flaming Cliffs 2.0: Way too many threads
-
Is there any way to limit what forums get shown when you hit the 'new posts' link? I'd like to ignore all the posts and forum sections that aren't in English... not because i don't love each and every one of you, because i do* (let's hug!), but it'd be handy not having to scroll through posts with backwards R's in it (that's all russian is right?) and frenchy bits. So, is this possible? * - actually i don't, especially the french... i ignore you just like the UN does ;)

Announcing Flaming Cliffs 2.0
digital_steve replied to Wags's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Life is unfair Man up and deal with it... how many hours did you put in to Flaming Cliffs? I reckon you've already got your money's worth. Everyone wants something for nothing. Christ. -
ED, I have one small and very simple request
digital_steve replied to thaFunkster's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
My God... really? Who effing cares? As long as you get the gist of the mission and the important bits, then you'll be fine -
Be handy for those wanting to play the latest games without upgrading their systems... seems that it doesn't rely on your own system specs.

Belkin n25te Gamepad (GREAT with Blackshark!!)

If it helps, i've been doing some macros for another sim and found that you often need to add a small delay between key strokes... this usually resolves the problem and works a treat. Hope that helps. -

Looks like the logitech g13 -
Very close... the lion leapt at him and hit him on the arm, but it looked as if he was trying to intimidate them to leave him alone rather than kill him. Sure did, probably due to most of them missing. I like the bit where the guy gets bowled over and basically breaks the group into a circle, and you can see a guy on the far side lining up a shot that'd be very close to the individual who got knocked down... that's what i call situational awareness. The high fives at the end were great too "Yeah dude, we dropped a lion... it only took 5 of us and about 100 rounds of ammo, gimme props!". At least in the second video they were in a pair and actually 'hunting/stalking'.

Awesome photos... really enjoyed them. Thanks!

Perfect stick for A-10C from Thrustmaster?
digital_steve replied to some1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well, the previous HOTAS was based on the F16, so it can't be that much of a bad idea... but this one has a lot more functions that replicate the A10, so it might be a bit more difficult to make it work across platforms (especially with all the switch labeling and stuff). I could be wrong though. -
lol! At least you admit it!
-
Everyone and everything changes... they might release a title that blows your little socks off. Just because this one sucked and they failed on the marketing and information aspects, doesn't mean they're incapable of learning. ... but, unlike this time, i'd wait until it was released for a while and thoroughly played and reviewed before i bought it.

Given it's a stick designed for the A10C... what's the rush to get it? -
CoD will be pay to play with next instalment
digital_steve replied to Prophet4no1's topic in Chit-Chat
If COD went pay to play, it'd have to implement some pretty amazing stuff... otherwise the next title that is similar and has free multiplayer will just kill it. i know one thing, be ****ed if ever pay to play a COD game -
It wasn't that bad... it certainly wasn't that good, but it was a decent attempt at getting a somewhat tactical shooter onto the console. The coop MP was fun, the rest of the MP was pants. Code Masters certainly have done themselves no favours by abandoning the product a mere 4 months after release. Personally, i'll be reluctant to buy another of their products along the same vein as this title due to their lack of support... but then again, if they address issues and actually make the AI smart, then i'd have a look.

Agreed Although a very good mod. I had a lot of fun playing that... i probably would still play it if there were servers around. I didn't think i'd like the future stuff, but it was damn fun with the flying and those ejection pods to the ground... plus the mechs! :music_whistling:

... i actually liked 2142! It was a bit different at the time and fun. In any case, bad company 2 can't be any worse than MW2, so that's a win.
-
Ok yeah, it does what it advertises... but that doesn't make it amazing; it just makes it another generic FPS. Yeah, dragon rising was disappointing... but honestly, the coop multiplayer was the best feature of the game. It was totally enjoyable in that mode and a bit tedious in single player (i never bothered with any other MP modes). I guess i just don't get the excitement anymore. I even pre-ordered MW2, so i'm not a FPS or COD or whatever hater... it's just how many variations on a theme can you have? That's what it boils down too for me; i simply can't understand the overwhelming excitement for something you've basically seen several times before.

Another reason to **** off COD series If they release a vietnam version thats not pay-to-play then i'd think about it... but i'd rather an arma/operation flashpoint vietnam title -

I hope they all get pushed back to next year... then i can afford a computer to run DCS! I own it... but i can't play it :( -
Comparing this to flashpoint is a mistake This is like a better version of MW2 (and a better version of that wouldn't be hard) whereas flashpoint dragon rising was an attempt (not a great one) to bring somewhat realistic military infantry 'simulation' to console. I personally vote with my wallet and will buy more console titles that try and go down the route of Operation Flashpoint Dragon as opposed to just constantly re-hashing the usual console/counter strike style FPS that consistently keeps reappearing. How many ****ing iterations of call of duty do people really want (and that's all this battlefield title is... mw2 with bits to please those that whinged about the pitfalls of mw2)? Aren't we bored of it yet?

Played the demo... it was just another online shooter with the occasional tank that no one could be bothered killing because they were too busy with sniper rifles. Just more of the same really.

FC 2.0 being pushed back, no further news or updates on it would point towards either a very (very) late 2010 release, but more likely 2011. I'm not sure Thrustmaster would bother releasing a product that looks solely dedicated to a game before that games release. +1... what he said
