Hey all, I've recently put my new system together and installed the english download version of Black Shark and the patch under windows 7. Install goes fine, patch goes fine but when i go to run Black Shark i get the the outline of the main menu window, but then get one or two .dll or missing .dll errors. I'm new to windows 7 and 64 bit as well, so if it's something i'm doing then i'd love to know System: AMD Phenom II X4 BE 8gb Ram ATI 5970 2 x WD Caviar Black Raid0 HDD's Win 7 x64 *note - i looked through ten pages of this support forum and couldn't find an answer to my question, apologies if this has already been dealt with and i just couldn't find it

err... lol... i was joking you know, touch screen tetris on the abris on a seperate monitor, you gotta know i was kidding
-
Once the ABRIS in-game functionality has been refined, can we please have a touchbuddy/touchpal update so it can be run on a seperate touchscreen? Please treat this as serious and stop derailing the thread, clearly the built-in games in ABRIS are important to some of us.

Eyefinity 6 fun and games
digital_steve replied to robinhood's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm more interested in where you can get monitors with thin bezels so i can go with eyefinity, now that my new PC setup is being built. -
That's the new stealth technology in FC2... looks like you didn't equip the pilot stealth suit in the loadout. Try that and see how you go.

Even though it's pricey, it is worth it... the manual is really good quality and in depth as well It's not as flimsy as the FC manual you can buy (wish i hadn't, hopefully the FC2 manual will be more solid like the BS version). Just weight it up in value: is it going to benefit you immensly having a hardcopy manual to reference while you play, and will you need to reference for a decent period of time? If yes, then it's worth the money... if you're already decent at the sim and only need to reference a couple of things, then you probably don't need it.

Any modman packages to help optimise FC2.0 for older systems?

Changed My Mind about Battlefield BC2 and COD Modern Warfare 2
digital_steve replied to ThePlainsman's topic in Chit-Chat
Sure it is... as long as you want to get to a capture point or MCOM and die a lonely death. If you can sprint around, shoot from the hip quickly and get kills like in MW2, then i stand corrected. As far as i've seen, it's not like that at all and when i've tried to play it like MW2 all i do is die... a lot. BTW BFBC2 *does* have a hardcore mode, when you select 'quick match' it's one of the 3 options. Funnily enough it's labelled 'hardcore' :megalol: -
Changed My Mind about Battlefield BC2 and COD Modern Warfare 2

BFBC2 is great fun multiplayer; bigger maps, not run and gun like MW2 MW2 failed on too many fronts for me to enjoy for long, is BFBC2 is the winner for me -
I wasn't being humorous, i was being honest. My guess would be that yours is nicely cooled and looked after as well. My feeling is the OP is trying everything and grasping at straws to get a result and probably hasn't taken this into account.

FC 2.0?? su27 vs f15???

This thread is so bad it gave me cancer ... it was cool to see someone get banned though! Top effort there! Fusion - gotta agree. Want total, complete and utter realism? Join the defence force. Can't? Well, make do with what you have. -
Overclocking and laptop in the same sentence ... this is not going to end well

Why don't you guys just release DCS: Flaming Cliffs?
digital_steve replied to VVanks's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
So? Should we give him a medal for bringing up an issue that is completely out of everyone's hands apart from ED? It's not a good point, it's a blatantly obvious one and there isn't even any solution offered to get away from ubisoft, if that's what ED even want to do. -

digital_steve replied to VVanks's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
This: Yep, you love them this much: They're not trying to squeeze anyone, they're trying to maintain their costs and profit margin and due to running overtime, it costs more. Nothing is for free. Not really, once all is done you have an upgraded sim of all the aircraft that you've already flown the guts out of. The FC2.0 release is the middle ground of compatibility with their newer products while not wasting wads of time recreating the wheel. I'd hazard a guess that most people would prefer a new DCS aircraft instead of ones they've already smashed about the place for years. All your suggesting is that ED spend a whole heap of time recreating aircraft that the FC2.0 release will address to an adequate level... that is time, and a whole heap of money, for a marginal benefit. As i said in another thread, if you don't like the way things are headed then you don't actually *have* to buy this product. If it isn't what you want, then don't buy it. Sales speak louder than words. BTW, just man up and pay the 5 bucks for another copy of LOMAC through ebay... pirating it and then saying ED made you do it is just ridiculous. -
Announcing Flaming Cliffs 2.0
digital_steve replied to Wags's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
People seem to miss the fact that it's not mandatory to buy this If people aren't liking what ED are doing with it (like not releasing it as a DCS expansion for god sake, or not updating the flight models so much that you can physically suffer from G forces in your seat or something) then they should vote with their wallets and not buy it. It's so easy; acceptance that unless you're actually creating something yourself, then it's never going to be totally perfect for you and then you buy knowing that it may still have some things that you're not toally down with... otherwise, if the negative aspects of the product outweigh the positives for you then just don't buy it. Sales will send more of a message than pissing away on an internet forum, regardless of developers reading it or not. -
C'mon! HAWX was damn good fun for what it was; an arcadey/console flight action game. It wasn't trying to be a sim!

I unrespectively disagree and pick a bar fight with you... i win, we shake hands and you buy me so much beer that i fall in love with you and we get married in vegas. The LMG seems to make mincemeat out of anyone at medium-long, medium and short range... plus there seems to be some magnum ammo thing as well. The assault rifles should be medium range and short range (yanno, like 600m downwards) and they're effective enough in my opinion, they just seem to be dominated by wads of medics with big, blathering MG's. I agree about people not know the roles or teamworking; i joined a squad and had like 2 kills, but i had heaps of points because i kept resupplying my squad members. I also agree about it being a coop combat game (like all the BF's), but they've seem to have made the medic class a somewhat effective run and gun class a la modern warfare 2 etc, and left the other classes as they should be. I do need more practice, not so much on skills but to learn the maps so i know the firing fields, lines etc.

I relented and got it on xbox360 It's a very pretty game, single player is a tad boring Multiplayer would be way more fun if everyone wasn't a medic with a magic machine gun that deals death whenever you within 500km of it, or the recon class with it's big long gun, amazing magic pistols and those friggen mortars
