  1. Agreed, no impact on performance here.
  2. In terms of this thread, I’m not sure I understand what the problem is? I see a lot of posts about massive frame rate loss. 80 to 60? 60-40? 40-20? It’s all different. And a lot of people that complain don’t have their specs posted. Entire first page, no specs. Are you meeting the minimum requirements for DCS? How’s your computer’s memory? Is your hard drive full? Background programs? Are you in VR? Are you recording? Is everything set on high settings? Are you doubling up on Nvidia CP, Oculus tool tray or steam settings? List your specs people so ED can see if the problem is, well, lack of power. Personally? I’m still on high settings (no Nvidia CP) with constant 40 FPS (I can’t tell the difference between 40 and 80 FPS anyway in VR) and it looks fantastic!! Are we asking too much from ED without checking our own systems? Just saying...
  3. Then go get on stable. Wait for it...
  4. $2500 for a computer that will support DCS for hopefully 3-5 years is better than $1500 + $500/year in upgrades. The other $2000-2500 for I/O stuff will last a long time. Plus, no need to worry about “fine tuning” settings. Everything on high and fly. Not to make this about trading but $5k in an IRA? Learn to trade currencies and you can buy a new rig every year, easy...
  5. Sorry but I have to ask. One of those “is the computer plugged in?” type questions. Are you uncaging before you try to slew the seeker? That step was not mentioned...
  6. F5 helped me when I started, just to build situational awareness. It shows the enemy aircraft in relation to you. Other than that, like below, learn the dogfighting capabilities of the aircraft. At low speeds, <250 kts, the F-14 can turn with most planes. Few can keep up with it. Practice, practice, practice...
  7. Just wait for Grim Reapers to try it. They’ll prove them wrong...:D
  8. Hey armchair quarterbacks, IMO, the feature list is exactly what ED should have released. The list is what they are able to release “at the moment”. The problem is people not accepting that release. People will be disappointed only if they accept that release as coming up short of their own expectations. That’s your own issue. If you want more right now, take the time and write the coding for more and submit it to them. Or better yet, build you own flight sim company and do more than they are. Until then, let ED do what it’s going to do and be happy with it. I have absolute faith in ED doing the right thing for it’s customers. Over time, if possible, they will add everything that you’re asking for. “Just a little patience, yeaaaaaaah, yeahhhhh.” I am super excited for the super carrier simply because I believe it’s the groundwork for something bigger. Be excited for the future of DCS, not disappointed that a company you don’t control doesn’t meet your somewhat unrealistic expectations. Now go fly and enjoy the awesomeness that is DCS World!
  9. You Tube. There are vids on You Tube showing you how to get different camera angles...
  10. Go to the same place you watched that video and search DCS camera angles...
  11. I went through this with the 2.5.6 update. It’s very easy for people to overthink the settings with all of the “it works for me” mods and setups out there. I got wrapped up into it as well. The fact is, all of our systems are different. Some things work, some things don’t. VR vs. monitor, rift s vs. odyssey+, 1080ti vs. 2080ti, 16GB ram vs. 32GB, etc. (makes me want a signature with system specs required for all members...). Your system should handle DCS. Take a deep breath and reset. Everything will be ok. Get rid of all mods, do a repair, erase contents of metashaders and fox in your saved games folders, reset entire Nvidia CP to application controlled, and start with DCS settings at medium. Test. If things are good, start bumping up the settings. Here’s the important and time consuming part, but so worth it. Adjust settings one at a time, maybe two. Easy to go crazy and lose track of changes. I did that and got to max DCS setting, MSAA @ 4, SSAA @ 1.5, PD 1.2 and v-sync on running 40-80 FPS depending on what I’m doing. I personally think 40 FPS at high settings runs/looks better than 80 FPS on medium settings. Super clean and “smooth enough.” Trying to be perfect will only frustrate you. Good luck!
  12. Hey everyone, Here’s my take on this. ED is preparing for Supercarrier. The coding is for that module. Until it comes out, we just have to deal with it. Tired of reading it everywhere, so here’s the work around until ED is ready to release SC... First takeoff... 1. Request takeoff. 2. Abort takeoff. 3. Hook up to catapult. 4. Takeoff. After landing... 1. Request startup. 2. Request takeoff. 3. Abort takeoff. 4. Hook up to catapult. 5. Takeoff. I have tested this on MP and SP. Only takes 10 seconds. Works every time. Happy flying!
  13. I went through the same issue a couple days ago. I set up a game display and a window display for oculus mirror. Then maximize the mirror windows and Lalt+tab DCS on top of it. Works like a charm, ????!
  14. +1 on this. I bought from Cyberpower last year. Works great! Great customer service as well.
