  1. Hi everyone, I found a couple errors in the README, to avoid confusion I've resubmitted this skin. I'll update the thread once it's available again. Thanks!
  2. Available for DL here: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/181032/ Mustang 9288 of No. 402 "City of Winnipeg" Sqdn, RCAF Auxiliary, based at Stevenson Field, Winnipeg, Canada, circa early 1950s. Aircraft finished in overall aluminum lacquer with matte black anti-glare panel, and standard RCAF nationality markings and ID codes for the era. RCAF style stenciling.
  3. Ok, first one is just about ready, thanks to DCS for the template. Mustang 9288 of No. 402 "City of Winnipeg" Squadron, RCAF (Auxiliary), early 1950s. Still adjusting the weathering layers and there's a couple of details I want to tweak before I post it. Tomorrow I start work on the Spec files and then she'll be done.
  4. Thanks, works great, only one thing I noticed, the little fences ahead of the ailerons are now missing:
  5. Ok, made some headway in the Specular World ;) I've never worked with colour spec layers before, just greyscale ala MS FS9, etc. After some experimentation I think I've hit a good balance between Liquid Chrome and Matt Camo... Note reflectivity of front half of the airplane (rear and wings using a dull camo spec): Compare to the original shiny metal spec below: This will become easier once the template is released and I can make custom spec files using all the individual markings and weathering layers for each skin I make.
  6. Hi fellas, I plan to do a lot of RCAF Mustang skins, including some of the lesser known but just as colourful of the Auxilliary squadron schemes. I could put them out for DL as they are finished but I'd prefer to wait for the official template release so I can adjust the weathering layers as required. Working on custom Spec layers now. Some aircraft were bare metal, others were covered with aluminum laquer. Also planning to do some WW2 RCAF skins, namely 441 and 442 Squadrons, but the post war period (pre-jets) is a somewhat neglected period of RCAF history so I'm having fun with the Auxilliary paint schemes right now. :)
  7. Been practicing here at home ... ;)
  8. Yeah, I've got an 8 inch extension for my WH so the stick axes don't bother me at all, I did adjust the rudder to 22 though as mentioned above and it's much nicer now, was way too sensitive before.
  9. If you zoom out a bit the proper tire textures appear, maybe it has something to do with LOD when in close?
  10. Another one in progress, 403 "City of Calgary" Sqn. Specular files used are the duller versions for camo skins, if I can find a happy medium between this and the "Terminator 2 Chrome" above I'll be happy :)
  11. Yep. One of my faves too :) Although the spinner is going to give me a heart attack... have to play with the curves nearer the tip, nothing's ever easy. RCAF style stenciling: Bunch more details to add... Thanks, I'm not really worrying too much about the liquid chrome effect because I don't know much about working with Specular layers yet. I know what you mean though, I plan to make 'em less airshow and more "operational" looking once the official template is released, right now it's just practice and getting to know where all the "bits" are mapped from. :)
  12. No template from ED yet so this is all quick and dirty right now, as well as WIP obviously. Just getting markings size and placement down. For the ED guys, what is the approximate scale of the model/textures, I'm guessing about 8 or 9 pixels to the inch? Stay tuned....
  13. Hmm, doesn't work for me. What exactly do you mean by "press Uninstall", my EMC installer doesn't have that option...?
  14. Ok, so the next question is obviously: "How much?" :)
  15. Hi guys, Am working on a second set of Canadian Forces fictional skins for the A-10C. This is a camouflage set based on the 1980s three colour scheme used by some Canadian military aircraft. There will be two types, one is the three-tone grey "Ghost" scheme, and the other (as shown) is with an olive green replacing one of the greys. Also working on a tan CF flight suit with appropriate Arid patches and insignia. Will look nice in Nellis (soon?)! Also, have been working on some fictional RAF schemes including an overall camouflage grey, OD green, and desert sand scheme with low viz markings. Also includes re-skinned pilot wearing RAF issue togs and a Mk4 helmet with Type Q oxygen mask.
  16. Everything's prepped for assembly, just need to buy the fasteners and paint. Been busy at work and not a lot of free time. I have a week off I booked this month to get 'er done. Will be talking to you shortly about a UFC kit.
  17. +1 I bought Helios at full price and I still urge everyone I talk to to pick it up now for donation, it's that good.
  18. Well, I haven't spent a lot of time in MP yet but AFAIK if you have the skins assigned in the MP menu everybody who has them should see them externally. If they don't then only you will see them and any screenies anyone else takes of you will have you in the default skin...?
  19. I've seen screenshots with various panels open on the aircraft, how do I get this to happen in the sim, I've tried the rearm bit but nothing happens. TIA
  20. A fictional Canadian Forces skin pack for DCS A-10C. Version 1.0.0.0 Notes: Contains two skins for each Canadian squadron currently in DCS A-10C, a two-tone grey, inspired by the current CF-18 Hornet paint scheme, and one all-over low vis grey scheme as worn by many tactical CF aircraft over the years. Each skin has authentic squadron tail art, and is finished in authentic CF paint colours and marking styles. These skins also use the game's serial generator for the last two digits, I used 1317xx for commonality with the fictional "Green Pixel" camo A-10C already in the game. Extras: 1) Spelling errors in Canadian squadron section of logbook corrected, due to space limitations, 439 "Sabre-Toothed Tiger" squadron was shortened to 439 "Tiger". Apologies to 424 squadron 2) New "Operational" squadron shoulder patches to replace the heraldic badges already in game. Any fighter pilot worth his salt will tell you that heraldic badges, although perfectly ok for blue blazers, are too snooty for flight suits. Less formal operational patches show esprit de corps and individual squadron flair, as well as history and tradition. 3) Canadian Pilot Textures: Canadian OD flight suit textures on both the cockpit pilot and the ejected pilot (different 3D models). Individual squadron patches can be chosen within the installer. Due to ED using a single pilot texture file for all A-10C pilots you can only have one type of pilot skin active at a time. However, if you would like to change your pilot to a different squadron simply run the installer again and choose a new pilot skin. You can even pause the game, ALT-TAB out, run the installer, go back into the game and your pilot will be different. Takes about 30 seconds. Known issues/shortcomings: There is an error with the serial number generator in DCS A-10C, any 7 will appear as a 6. Hopefully this will be corrected in a patch. Canada puts the whole six digit serial on the tail, and the last three digits of the serial on the nose and wings. As DCS A-10C is coded right now you can only put numbers on the nose, tail, and main wheel fairings, so the wings are missing the "Buzz Numbers". Unable to put flight suit patches or the left arm pocket on the ejected pilot skin as it uses a mirrored texture for both arms. Credits: Textures by jocko417 Installer by Bonedust (Big Thanks!)
