  1. Agreed, Russian KA50s and US Warthogs would digress into an A2A fight.. and that's not what this mission is about. Thanks for the assist.
  2. @jeffyd123 Thanks for the results! I'm considering pulling the MLRS fire at Tbilisi. It's kind of expensive on the hardware. I'm weighing the affect of a burning city under you while you prepare to ingress against the system overhead. Think it's worth it?
  3. Howdy, I've created a pretty epic mission based around a large battle (300+ units on either side) in a valley. There are 10 Warthog seats already. I'm considering adding some Blacksharks. I can't decide whether I should make the Blacksharks US or Russia, and I can't decide how many I should add. If the BS are on US, they'll support battlefield operations by attacking Russian vehicles on the line, along with the Warthogs. If the BS are Russia, they'll attack US assets on the other side of the line, in opposition to the Warthogs. With 10 Warthog seats available, I'm worried that if I add too many BS, it might impact performance too greatly. I'm considering decreasing the Warthogs to 8, and adding 8 BS. Any thoughts or assistance would be appreciated.
  4. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68894&highlight=Mgrs For a practical color coded explanation. There's a doc link for a lower level more granular explanation.
  5. Andrei, I tested these conditions and didn't see the same results. No crash on mav impact on T72s (tried two different sets) and Apaches take the out all AA assets about 8 of 10 times. Are you using the newest mission marked v1.2? Did you upgrade to 1.1.1.1, or did you run the full install. I'll be interested to find out what's going on.
  6. Kimkiller - sorry for the delayed response.. work has been intense. I flew the mission and confirmed refuel/rearm/repair. Do you have the latest version? It's attached in the OP and named v1-2. I put it up on the 3rd. The first version that I launched had a few bugs, no refuel/rearm/repair was one of them. I'm not sure why it wasn't working, as Vaziani is definitely a military base. I added some friendlies there and haven't seen a problem since. If you're trying to RRR somewhere besides Vaziani, be sure to open F10, click on the airport, and make sure it says Military instead of Civilian. Tell me how it goes. I got 38 vehicles on my first weapons load.. it was a blast! I like taking out any vehicles that bite back.. then gun the trucks and arty... fun fun!
  7. A vid of the Nellis area from an airliner for comparison: Wish I was there now with a lawnchair and a sixpack to watch RedFlag heh
  8. For a good test of FPS range, try my FPS Reference Mission. There are 12 Blacksharks flying slowly toward you while you're on the runway. On the average users report FPS output is around 40 high and 15 low. Lower when the Blacksharks get right in front of you. I use it to test the difference between test builds of DCS.
  9. The above mission is to tax your system.. When I'm testing new builds I use my FPS Reference Mission. You're parked on a runway near a city, with 12 Blacksharks flying slowly toward you in formation. It gives a nice consistent FPS reading when the Sharks are at distance, then another when they get closer... and it looks sweet too.. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=66755
  10. The referenced mission has a four Hawg element and two Shark elements of two, northfarp and southfarp.
  11. I created a mission back in beta that taxed system resources, as kind of a test bed. Sometime around .6 it stopped loading properly. I've received several requests to fix the problem, so I've recreated it for your CPU smoldering pleasure: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1093897 Enjoy yourself in FPS Hell...:devil_2:
  12. FPS Hell is fixed.. and with a bigger pitchfork :devil_2: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1093897
  13. Yeah, that's why it seemed to be the main snapview had changed view position. If it's not that, it may be that you have an issue with your right control key. Try changing your views using the following keys to see if it works: "Num* - RCtrl" Zoom external in View "NumEnter - RCtrl" Zoom external normal View "Num/ - RCtrl" Zoom external out View If these don't work either, your RCTRL key may either be bound to something else (in DCS or another app) or you have a defective keyboard.
  14. Shootist, I just finished it. It needs to be more thoroughly tested... would you collecting feedback from your group in case I need to alter or expand the mission? This is just like the non-coop Hawg mission, with the addition of two farps and 2 client Blacksharks at each farp. If you don't have people to fly the Blacksharks, it should play out exactly like the non-coop version, with AI Blacksharks doing SEAD. Once you have a client Blackshark spawn, all AI Blacksharks will RTB. There's also the ability to F10 and request SEAD RTB, then you can take the AA assets out with Hawgs if you want. Tell me what you think. BIPV_A10+KA50_COOP_v1-2.miz
  15. You've most likely inadvertently hit RALT+kpd0 and reset your default snapview. The easiest way is to restore the defaults. You can do this by replacing SnapViews.lua with SnapViewsDefault.lua in the "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Config\View\" folder (smart move devs!). If you don't want to reset all of your snap views, you can follow this procedure: *slew the desired view and zoom *hit Ralt+0 *hit F1 Here's a complete post on the subject
  16. Yes, I apologize for the system resources required for this mission. Although I did try to optimize, there are dozens of triggers, and vehicles on each side, all targeting one another. Also, the detail of the city of Tbilisi on top of MLRSs causing fires there, causes a significant system resource drain. This mission isn't as bad as the next in the series. I would suggest to anyone with a system having trouble with Build-up In Patara Valley, not attempt to run Battle In Patara Valley when I release it. Also, You may try lowering Scenes, Visib Range, Water, Shadows, MSAA, and HDR. If you have system resources being eaten by other processes, a good solution is to run GameBooster, it turns all that off when you play games, then turns it back on for normal operations afterward.
  17. The "Make TXT" feature is intended to 'output' all of your controls to a text file, giving you a list of the key bindings currently set up in your installation. In your case for example; open the file A-10C_keyboard_default.txt and search for the letter K. Then open A-10C_keyboard_keyboard.txt and search for the letter K. You can see what the default binding is for K, and also what your personal setting is for the letter K. The files from "Make TXT" are only a convenient way to display keys used, they do not provide input for new key bindings. New key bindings procedure: - Click Options > Controls - Popdown Aircraft and choose "A-10C Sim" - For Catagory, either leave "All" selected, or select the Catagory where the key you'd like to change resides. In this case we can assume it's "HOTAS" - Doubleclick on any binding to edit that binding, in the keyboard, stick, or mouse columns - Press the key or function you would like to assign to that binding action - Click OK You can find more information in the manual installed in your programs files called "DCS A-10C GUI Manual" on page 17.
  18. If you'd like a list of the keys, default and custom, open DCS and goto Options > Controls > click MAKE TXT. This will create a set of text files showing all controls. It should automatically open the folder containing the new text files, but in case it doesn't the path is X:\Users\NAME\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\InputLayoutsTxt If you'd like a reference for the HOTAS functions, I've created a reference card that makes it easy. My example is for the X52 Pro, but there's a spreadsheet included so you alter it to your customizations or stick. HOTAS Functions Reference If a key on your keyboard isn't working as it should, check to make sure it's not hooked by another application (i.e. set to key for 'calibrate' in TrackIR). I've had this happen to me when I set a custom key combination for a Windows shortcut and it happened to coincide with a DCS combo. If you'd like to shut down all non-essential applications and services when you fly DCS, try GameBooster. All that it does is end process on known memory hog apps (e.g. Windows Print Spooler) while in Game Mode. After you're done flying, just click 'Normal Mode' to stop GameBooster.. and everything goes back to normal. Very simple but effective app. GameBooster
  19. I see 18 people have tried the new version. Thanks for checking it out. Has anyone seen any bugs or negative behavior in the Hawg version? Anyone have any feedback on the Warthog/Blackshark co-op version? (still need to bring this version to 1.2)
  20. Glad you've found it useful. Thanks for the positive comments... makes the work with it. I started this mission by creating a practice platform for myself. It increased my ability with the GAU so much that I expanded it for wide consumption. If there's something else you'd like to see in the mission that might make it more effective, tell me and I'll make it happen. Thanks :)
  21. Well done Xaoslaad. The mission referenced in my initial post has been revised to allow recall of SEAD with F10. Some bug fixes were introduced as well. This should be my final version of this mission: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84697
  22. All issues reported prior to this post should be resolved. Also, added ability to recall SEAD with F10 if you want to take AA assets out yourself.
  23. If you decide that you'd like to refine your GAU8 skills, try my TankBuster101 instructional mission http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=72549 It includes voiceover and detailed step by step instruction.
  24. Added multiplayer version to assist in tankbusting personal instruction.
