Ok this is my last post on this thread because it's getting boring now. You started this thread with the few lines from a report, I asked you to give me more info because i'm interested and you can't because you have only these few lines from the internet. I don't have the real document or any official document regarding the A-10, but then again I don't pretend to have one. Raploc Out! :twisted:

Let me rephrase my question. Please give us more information of that report than was in your first post . You said you had photo's and stuff. Now I understand that maybe you cannot share these photo's , but surely you could give some new quotes from that report? Greetz Raploc

That's why I wanna see photos from the inside of the tank, after it been shoted and also some report of damaged inside elements, like engine, or crew compartment :roll: In my document you can see such of report... Would you be so kind to share this information with us ? Not the photo's but a few quote's from the report so that I and the rest can get a better understanding of the report from '79 Greetz Raploc

It is not a matter of relative speed, but of the relative angle that you try to get a radar contact from the KC. You see, if hit from the side (abeam) it will bring you a much stronger echo than if you illuminate the tanker right from astern on head on. If the simulation works correct and these physical rules were considered by the programmers, you probably will see a KC 130 from 80-90 km when you look at it from the side. I'm sorry but this is wrong. Doppler-pulse radars depend largely on relative speed, and the radar cross section of a plane depends on more factors than just the size of a surface returning the radar signal. Greetz, Raploc

Please read this: http://www.theweatherprediction.com/habyhints/231/ It might give you a slightly better understanding why Doppler radars (and yes also the F-15's radar) have some trouble picking up low Doppler returns. The N-019 radar supposedly can track a fighter sized target from the rear at a max range of 19nm, so 45nm for the APG-63 is not so bad. :D
