  1. The breifing said 100% fuel load. And the gauge read the same. As for the APU, Mission started with the chopper fired up already. So, The APU was off. I'm stumped.
  2. I have already decided never to own any IW or activision product again. Once the MW1 and W@W servers go dark, I'm done I'll be done with them forever. The more I read about the company after the poor handling of the MW2 PC debacle, the more I realised this is not a company worth my time and money. One article I read about the Activation CEO made me want to curb check him myself. That guy is a ruthless old b@stard that really thinks gamers are idiots and will buy what ever he tells them to and at what ever price he demands. Here is the article I'm talking about. http://www.geeks.co.uk/7282-activision%E2%80%99s-bobby-kotick-hates-developers-innovation-cheap-games-you
  3. So, I just did a 30 min mission and ran out of fuel befor landing. Before this I did onw here I was in the air over an hour. Both missions had the same fuel and weapons loadout. Why would this happen? Granted in the long one I was flying at pretty high altitude, and I know in fixed wing aircraft that higher alt means better fuel ecconomy, but a 50% differance seems extreme. Is it possible I had a leak some place? I never took ant fire so it should not be from combat damage. Are randome system failures even implamented in this? Thoughts?
  4. Call of Pripyat is not out yeat. It's in develpoment still and is DX11 only. So, you will have to be on Win7 when it comes out and buy a new DX11 card. As of right now, I think only ATI has them.
  5. I really like my Steelseries 5Hv2. Good sound and very comfortable.
  6. I've been playing the first stalk (Shadow of Chernobyl) for a few years. I still see new things from time to time. I love how the world feels alive and every time you enter any area, even if you have beent there twenty times, you still feel a bit catious. There may be a group of bandits, dogs, bloodsuckers, or just a friendly group of fellow stalkers waiting. You never really know. Also check this mod out for a lot more gaming goodness. http://www.moddb.com/mods/super-mod-pack
  7. Fingers, toes, chest hairs, ummm "other" hairs crossed!
  8. Ok, it should be attached. If I did it right. I flew this mission a few times before getting it rihgt, so I kinda sat and waited for the Hind's to show up. I also started climbing really early so I would be at alt in time for the big climb. If you watch the whole thing, I touched down right as one engine cut out from a tank going empty. Made for an unexpectedly rough landing, but it survived. lol Super Hind.trk
  9. Cool, got it! Anthing in particulare I should look for that may have caused this?
  10. I accidently forgot to. Does it have an auto save for the last flight? I have not flown on since that one.
  11. So, I am doing the "Deployment" campaign and I'm on the mission where you have to fly over the mountains and do a coordinated attack on an insurgent vehicle holding area. As you know, two Mi-24's show up to try and spoil your day. I splashed one with a pair of Vikhrs. The second one, was a little more unusual. First Vikhr hit right in the pilots canopy. So, I think "he's done". As I watch on the Shkval, he keeps coming. I start firing HE rounds and none make a connection. I start making evasive maneuvers and at this point I realise, I'm not being engages, nor my wing men. I turn to face the Mi-24 again after it passed and locked it up. I watch on my screen as it kept flying to the mountain, and then into it. Not a fiery crash into it, but literally inside the mountain! I stared for a second then went one with the mission. On my way back to base after the mission, I flipped through the F2 camera's. To my surprise the Mi-24 was STILL flying! I was shocked. At this point it looked to be way off the normal map. After landing I flipped back to it and kicked up the time a bit to see if it was going to ever crash. After a while I gave up and quite. I thought it was interesting. Here are a couple pics of the super Hind. Pilot looks pretty dead to me. At 11,000 feet and climbing. lol
  12. I had two small issues with my x52. The thumb slider was sticking a little as well as the cup on the stick. I whipped up a quick fix I thought I would pass on. First on the thumb slide. I used a very small amount of graphite powder to make it slide better. Quick and easy, you can pick it up for about $2 and most hardware stores. On the stick I used some alcohol to clean the bottom of the cup and the base. I then put a very thin layer of TechT Gun Sav on both the cup and the rim on the base. For those that don't know, TechT Gun Sav is a paintball marker lube. It is super lightweight so it wont ooz off when sitting. It is also very sticky in the sense that it sticks to plastic, metal, and rubber surfaces but has an extremely low friction coefficient. Figure this stuff is meant to be used in markers firing 900+ balls per min in extremely tight tolerances. One part sticks slightly and the marker will break a ball of fail to fire at all. So, supper slippery stuff. You can pick it up at their site (http://www.techtpaintball.com/gunsav.html) for $10. I've been using it for a few years on my paintball markers and it worked great on my stick too! The biggest advantage of this is that it makes the stick move much more smoothly and function better. Which always means better flying. Enjoy!
  13. No problem. Glad you got it working.
  14. It's not much, but it works for the most part. Note TrackIR coming soon. And after wedding, a new monitor. And normally the lighting is off.
  15. Works fine on my X52.
  16. You don't controle the throttle in the hellicopter. It should be in "auto". You should program the throttle on you joystick as the "collective". That controles the amount of lift from the rotors. I hope this helps.
  17. Will this be added to DCS:BS at soem point? That would be sweet!
  18. The Saitek X36 (pre USB erra) had the rudder on the bottum of the throttle. It was very easy to use via finger tip. I liked that a lot better than twist sticks. No idea why they removed that feature and changed to the twist stick. I've owned the X36, X45, and now the X52. I've had nothing but good luck with Saitek. I even use their Eclips 2 keyboard. Customer service is great too. They have sent me parts over the years to do DIY repairs. Thinks like POTs and switches. I jsut told them what I needed and it showed up in a couple days.
  19. Not doing both makes flying a pain with a non FFB stick. It may not be allowed for real pilots, but with the conditions we have to deal with in a PC sim, it works best.
  20. I find when changing direction that holding the trimmer down till after the turn makes life easier. When I'm going to do a lot of manuvering I turn off heading hold on the auto pilot. Works best for me. You jsut have to work the rudder a bit more. specially in slow flight. Rudder into a turn and then counter rudder coming out. Not to hard if you practice a bit.
  21. I was planning on the TrackIR5 with clip.
  22. It's working with those sugjestions. Thanks guys! On a side note, since running it with it all on and maxed out with AF x16 and AA x16Q, I actually picked up a littler performance and made it look better. A little backwards from normal, but cool. Normally I take a tiny hit from AF. AA has no effevt on frame rates in and game I tested it on so I always run as high as it will let me if the app does not have it built in.
  23. I went into the mission editor and created a loadout, saved then "export" to CAS. But it fails to show up in the radio list for that mission, or any other. Is there a missing step? Also when re-entering the ME the loadout is missing fromt he list.
  24. Slightly crazy, but very cool. I like it!
  25. I tried all settings. Works fine if I adjust it in "global" settings. I jsut don't need all my games running on the highest settings. I'm not to worried about the card anyway. It can handly Crysis maxed out and 1280x1024 (max res of monitor). It's an eVGA GTX260 superclocked edition that I have further overclocked. I'm about as fast as I can go on stock cooling. And this game barly wakes it up. My CPU on the otherhand has two cores prettys stressed, the other two not so much, about 40-50% load from what my data software has recorded.
