I felt the cold, since my first beat,
The sky was cold, the earth was cold,
All in despair, I cried and cried,
I wiggled, I kicked, I scratched and I bit,
But there was no warmth, the one I need.
Then came the voice, from a distant land,
It was sweet, and it was warm,
It called for me, every now and then,
To give the warmth and the comfort I need.
It was the journey too long, but I walked and I walked,
Though the days were cold and the nights were dark,
From infant to teen to adult I grew, but I walked and walked,
For it hailed for me in eager and eager.
To this day I walk and I walk,
Let days be cold and nights be dark,
For voice that called, now sings for me,
Though in distance, I know not far,
For the warmth of it, touches my heart.
For days to come, and nights to pass,
I'll walk and walk, and walk and walk,
For I know one day, I will be there,
For the warmth and comfort will all be mine.
