  1. So basically I just have to delete the files in the FXO folder only because the other files do not get re-generated? And then apply the MOD again?
  2. You are correct. I was referring to the HAF manual and yes I just saw that this was for the D model. The other manual I read was the Basic Employment manual, chapter Refuelling Ground Operations: 6.3. Ground Operations. During normal after-start checks, check the AR system. Move the AR switch to the OPEN position and check the AR status lights for a blue RDY light on and the DISC light off. Depress the AR/NWS DISC on the side stick and check that the amber DISC light is on. Three seconds later, the RDY light should come back on and the DISC light should go out. Move the AR switch to CLOSE and check that the RDY light extinguishes. The crew chief will confirm operation of the AR door and slipway lights. Confirm that the slipway lights are also turned up to illuminate the refueling receptacle (Figure 6.1., Cockpit Switches). CAUTION: On the ground, depressing the AR/NWS button cycles the NWS. After closing the AR switch, check NWS light on prior to taxiing. So it DOES cycle the NWS. I did not realise that. I thought that if the refuel door was open on the ground that the indicator would refer to the AR system not NSW. All in all it's not a big deal at all. I would much rather have more functions available on the DED/ICP than this light.
  3. I can't remember what the message said exactly. Basically it was something similar to this: https://forums.eagle.ru/picture.php?albumid=1313&pictureid=10406 I was on 2.5.6 OB and had the latest mod running. I went to delete the metacache files in the DCS folder...but to my surprise there are no new shader files? Just the folder with my old.shaders folder I created last time when I installed the mod. Shouldn't I have new shader files there?
  4. So, I had an error yesterday on starting DCS. I uninstalled the shaders mod and it worked. Am I supposed to delete the FXO folder and SHADERS folder and re-install the mod to make it work? Or do I need to wait for a new mod version?
  5. Try ALT+TAB, and then WIN+Y (if you are using WMR). This happens quite a lot for me with my Reverb
  6. Ah right. Was wondering if it was the mod or not. Thanks for that. I hadn't tried the NVGs before the mod so didn't know.
  7. I had a similar issue with image being shakey and the headset struggling with tracking when I look around. It's not the lighting because the room is well lit. I wonder if the latest patch is causing it? Or perhaps it could be the USB port I was using...
  8. Ah cool! Thanks guys, I had a look at the bugs thread but must have missed this one. My bad
  9. No, it's not the gain. Basically, before it looked like this: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/upload/iblock/f13/Mig-1.jpg So you could see and read the instruments at the bottom of the screen, as if you were looking below the NVG (like in real life). Now the whole screen is covered with NVG...as if the goggles are pressed up right against my eyes.
  10. Before the update i could read the cockpit instruments whilst using NVGs by looking at the bottom of the display (using VR). Since the update I have to switch the NVGs off to be able to read the instruments. Is this because of the update or is it because I had to uninstall the shaders mod? The mod gave DCS an error on startup.
  11. ah ok, I did a search for it but didn't see any posts on it. Glad to hear they are aware. I noticed that if you maneuvre to the right and keep the target on the left you do get an aspect angle with the letter L next to it, so that is correct. When maneuvering to the left side (right aspect angle) that is when you get the incorrect AA indications.
  12. no SIM in HUD when Master ARM set to SIMULATE? I get NAV, I get ARM but not SIM when the Master arm is set to SIMULATE. Bug?
  13. Ah right, misunderstood what you were trying to say. I thought you were talking about real world weights.
  14. As far as I'm aware the aspect angle on the MFD should only read between 0 to 18 and a L/R to indicate which side of the aircraft. When I was flying last night I saw an aspect angle of 22? Is it a bug or am do I not understand the symbology?
  15. Hi,this is not a big issue/bug but just one i think could easily be coded to be correct. The F16 manual says: Ground Operations. During normal after-start checks, check the AR system. Move the AR switch to the OPEN position and check the AR status lights for a blue RDY light on and the DISC light off. Depress the AR/nose wheel steering (NWS) DISC on the stick and check that the amber DISC light is on. Three seconds later, the RDY light should come back on and the DISC light should go out. Move the AR switch to CLOSE and check that the RDY light extinguishes. The crew chief will confirm operation of the AR door and slipway lights. Confirm that the slipway lights are also turned up to illuminate the refueling receptacle. AND FROM DASH 1: NWS Light The NWS light, the center element of the AR/NWS status indicator located on the top of the glareshield, illuminates green when NWS is engaged. NWS does not operate even though the NWS light is illuminated when the NWS FAIL caution light is on or when system B hydraulic pressure is unavailable. On the ground, NWS continues to operate with the AIR REFUEL switch in OPEN even though the NWS light is off. *27. AR system (if required) - Check. AIR REFUEL switch - OPEN, RDY light on, DISC light off. NOTE If both the RDY and DISC lights are on, then one or more relays are failed. This condition must be corrected prior to AR. D A/R DISC button - Depressed. DISC light on, RDY light off; 3 seconds later, RDY light on, DISC light off. In DCS when you press the nws/disc switch on the ground with AR switch to open the NWS comes on but you don't get the DISC light. Like I said, no biggie but would be nice to have it correct. Thanks!
  16. Where did you find this figure? I may be looking at outdated numbers. Maybe newer ones are only 50 kgs? Again, all this is academic and not really important but more of a nice to be correct thing. THe sim is amazing and I have a fantastic time flying it.
  17. CENTERLINE PYLON* (16S951) = 177 lbs So weight with full internal tanks and just a full CTR tank+pylon should be 27,062 177 pylon 2432 Weight of CTR tank 392 lbs (includes unusable fuel) + 2040 lbs of usable fuel ------------------------------------------------- 29,671 lbs Just curious, I know that the drag index is modelled in DCS but I'm curious how accurately this has been done? Has anybody done any tests?
  18. Just noticed that the centre empty tank weight may be tad on the low side: 29,175 with full tanks + CTR 27,062 full tanks ----------------------- 2113 lbs , Fuel of a CTR tank is 2040 lbs --> empty tank weight is 73 lbs? I may have wrong info but a real F16 manual states empty weight as 392 lbs (unusable fuel included) Not a big deal...was just curious if this is an oversight or correct?
  19. Just to confirm, I should not use it for daytime missions and I should download your version of the VPC objects mod?
  20. SWEET!!!! Thanks! That looks amazing!
  21. I would love to try this template but like the others I can not get my mission to start. I assume it's because I haven't got a mod installed. I installed as many mods as I could find on your list but some aren't available anymore. What a shame....
  22. Hi guys, I have been trying to set this up but can't get it to work. I managed to get AI to be the lead aircraft by creating a flight of 2. A/c 1 is skill high or excellent. A/c 2 is client so I choose that one. Both are set to start on ramp (not hot!) and as soon as it loads up the AI aircraft starts up and taxis away to the runway. Is there a way to get him to start later? I tried adding a "perform command" and "start" but that does not work if I am nr 2 I think. Has anybody been able to create a mission like this?
  23. I think people aren't reading my original post properly. I did not complain about the HUD not being readable when flying into the sun, that's to be expected. I am saying that it's really hard to read it when you are in on top of a thick overcast cloud layer or in the actual top part of the layer it becomes really difficult to see the HUD. Try it, setup a layer of clouds from 10 to 20,000 ft with the density maxed out so that it becomes overcast. Time of day: 12:00. Have a flight through the cloud and fly on top of it (fly level, not climbing) and tell me if you can actually read the HUD.
  24. Well guys, I went through Thud's VR guide and also that Youtube Optimisation video. I am pleased to say that the (sideways) ghosting is significantly better now! The main bit that fixed it was enabling reprojection in the SteamVR settings file (MixedRealityVRDriver\resources\settings). I'm not sure if the shaders mod really improved performance but it definitely made the colours look a bit "meh", especially the grass textures. I still want to play around a bit to see if I can improve the performance. Does anybody know what the optimum settings are in SteamVR? The ones I'm interested in are the reprojection mode, legacy reprojection and the filter?
