  1. Great idea motomouse! For the moment I have glued it together and put tape over it but I'm not sure it will hold. I will try your tube method when it breaks again. Whilst I was disconnecting the cable a tiny bit of plastic broke off from the connector, not a big deal but i'm starting to question the build quality of the headset.
  2. Has anybody here broken the plastic strap (behind the earphones). I broke mine last night , tried fixing it with strong tape but wondering if there is a better and stronger way to fix it?
  3. Are these modes still WIP?
  4. Hey Tundra, Yeah I got the one that is in the youtube video and it works. I would love to try your mission too and see how it works, plus if its 63B that would be perfect!!! much quicker to get to the range in that case, especially if it's a hog! :-)
  5. Disregard, I got the sample range mission, the same one as the Moose Range Youtube vid. I got it working, so long as I login as an observer first! I just need to figure first how to make sure that the scoring is for the target I roll in on.
  6. Yeah, I tried it in DCS and it doesn't do anything for the pitch up. I'll try in BMS as well. I'd be surprised if it's meant to work for the pitch up because as far as I know the override is designed solely to get you out of a deep stall. Just like msvgas says.
  7. Hi Rudel_chw, I tried that one with the sample mission. The sample mission is in Caucasus however and even though I have the range objects installed I didn't see any of them in the mission, just red and green smoke where the bomb/strafe targets should be. I managed to install the moose range mission with the lua file and got it working (as long as you log in as an observer first!). It's not the 63 range that the 476th guys created , it's a (made up?) range near Tonopah airbase but it will do the job. Only downside is it's further away from Nellis. The range is this one:
  8. Hi Stuka, thanks for your reply here and in the 476th Forum. I have replied to you on there.
  9. Hi guys, does anybody have or know where I can find a RANGE script for the NTTR in particular the 63 range where there are strafing and bombing targets? I tried making it myself with Moose but am getting nowhere, I guess I'm just too dumb to know how to use LDT, LUA and DCS. I looked here, DCS user files, at the 476th VFW , google...but I can not find a script for the range anywhere. What I would like is to have a script where they give you a scoring for a strafe run and tell you how many bullets hit the target and also where they tell you how far the bomb has dropped from the bullseye. I know that this is possible because I have seen videos of it. Does anybody know where I can get a miz and lua file for this?
  10. Hi guys, does anybody have or know where I can find a RANGE script for the NTTR in Nevada? 12. I never knew that. The dash 1 doesn't state if it's only for pitching down or both directions. It says the override position is to override the negative G limiter and allow pitch commands. One would assume that that means it's for pitch down only. I'll have a play with it later. So in BMS it was for pitching up too? hmmmm
  13. I thought MPO was for nose down only to get out of a deep stall?
  14. Thanks VirusAM & Speed-of-Heat! I have noticed a FPS/stutter improvement with yesterday's update. When I run the Nevada F16 "ready on ramp" instant action mission I would get some stutters during taxi and turn left after take off I would get around 22 fps flying past Nellis, 20 fps and big stutters heading over Las Vegas North airport. Since yesterday I get no stutter on taxi , 27 fps abeam Nellis and 22-23 at Vegas North (still some stutter). Also, the 2nd measurements were taken after I have upped my SteamSS from 120 to 130%, maxed out trees, maxed out clutter and increased pre-load. So overall it's an improvement for me. I haven't played around with that Bloom effect and the mask setting yet.
  15. Yeah, is that mask option setting the same as the mask setting for this shader mod or is it different?
  16. Do you guys know what the MASK SIZE option in the VR settings is about (since the open beta update today)? Is it the same as the Shaders mod mask size option or is this different? I don't actually know what it even does, any of you smart computer guys know?
  17. yeah, I just watched a Growling Sidewinder video with him in a Viper defeating a Mirage. Several things that were interesting were that he had blackout disabled, he was also able to keep tally on the Mirage after the merge. I wonder if he padlock enabled? Also he managed to get a kill on the Mirage without placing the BATR on the mirage but merely by aligning the EEGS funnel over the mirage and squeezing the trigger at the right moment. The BATR pipper was up and to the right of the mirage yet he got a kill? I didn't think that would work but it seems the funnel is more important for gauging the shot than the BATR pipper.
  18. Yes, I have but it was interesting to see it from the F18 side and actually see how it performs. I wonder if ED will do anything about the discrepancies in performance?
  19. Interesting read! I recently started a thread to ask how real fighter pilots felt about BFM in DCS and how real life tactics translate into DCS. So I found your comment about that quite interesting to read. I have been reading tons of stuff from real manuals and tactics but it seems that when I get into a dogfight I forget 90% of that stuff and just fly the plane reactively and not getting into an offensive position easily.
  20. Well, last night I went on the Just Dogfighting server again and had a few more fights. In the 16 I was able to maneuver better by forcing a 2 circle fight, still, got shot down more often than me killing them. I then switched to the F18 to see what that was like. It was MUCH easier! The things that made it easier : - It does NOT black out as quickly as the F16. No, I wasn't pulling 9 Gs but I was able to get 7-8+ quite easily without even getting any tunnel vision. This allowed me to keep tally on the bandit and as such I could maneuver much better and get in a better postion, whether offensive or defensive. - the HUD is much bigger compared to the F16 and the pipper seemed to be bigger too. Getting an accurate shot in was significantly easier in the Hornet - I was able to force 1 and 2 circle fights without feeling disadvantaged. Don't get me wrong...I was still getting shot down more often than me shooting others down. But leveling the playing field made it much better and felt fair. I can see why a lot of people choose the F18 for dogfighting. I wonder if there will be many successful F16 fighters in the online championships?
  21. Interesting stuff Hummingbird. of course the other problem is the quick blackouts that occur in the F16 which prevent you from being competitive against the likes of a Tomcat or Hornet. I wonder if this year there will be any players in the online dogfight championships that fly the viper and get very far?
  22. That is my exact problem every time i go against other jets! The Mirage in a 1 circle fight is a losing game. It was for me at least unless I managed to force a reversal. I started to play online to improve my dogfighting skills because the AI is so crap with their silly vertical movements and insane performance. But online against humans I always pray for an opponent in a Viper too so we have a level playing field.
  23. Yeah, fair point. I think it's just my pilot mentality. I get a bit frustrated when I don't see myself getting better after several sorties. I usually get better at things fairly quickly and can figure out where I went wrong. Analysing a BFM fight is tricky because it's so dynamic and I play on the just dogfighting server in multiplayer where it can become a furball very quickly, very often.
  24. I have to agree with this. I find the funnel fine when the bandit is just moving in 1 direction. As soon as they jink and change plane of motion I struggle to get a good aim on them again. I haven't really tried any BFM in another jet so don't know if it's just my crappy aiming skills. In addition, that funnel....does it actually change width if you change the wingspan in MAN adjust on the DED list options? pretty sure it does in Falcon BMS.....in DCS I'm not so sure.
  25. All I know is that whenever I go on the Just Dogfighting MP server I get beaten by F14s/F18s and Mirages regularly. Most likely it's due to me sucking at BFM but I do also feel that they seem to be able to maneuver their jets more easily than me in the F16.
