  1. Hi All, Another way to modify this is to update the following line in the lua file : GT.Landing_Point = {-60.425, 4.848, 0.0} -- these are the original values, not yet updated where the parameters are x, z, y, i.e., you must modify the z parameter to update the height of the landing point to fit exactly to the flight deck level. If you want to have the helo land exactly on the center of the spot, modify also the x value. This is my personal approach, which works also for the Clemenceau and Charles de Gaulle carriers. But Admiral is certainly the most competent person to give an answer here. Enjoy and Fly low... Toan
Merci Sushy, Fly low...
  3. Hi Urbi, Sorry, I probably missed something, but replacing the existing texture Tex_0026_1.dds in la_fayette.zip with yours just produces a weird situation, where I still have the hangar door on the left, but now the helo path goes to the right. Any clue ? Thanks for your help, Toan
  4. Hi All, I strongly support these two suggestions, thanks Marroux. First, Admiral definitely deserves the suggested DCS Naval Community Medal of Honor with bars (one for each ship Mod he developed : there are 15 of them !), Second, submarine warfare seems quite overlooked in DCS, as far as I know. A side-effect of this is that ASW weapons seem quite limited. For example, the FREMM frigates have in real life twin torpedo tubes on each side of the hull, an ASW NH-90 helo and a powerful sonar suite. They also have a torpedo decoy launcher on each side. Further, air carrier groups are always escorted by protecting subs. It could be interesting to address these aspects, thus providing a new realistic dimension to DCS. As mentioned by Marroux and Admiral, one of the best source of information today concerning naval forces worldwide is the seaforces.org web, which includes a comprehensive description of ships, weapons and many photos. Altogether, thanks again to Admiral for his amazing work and efforts to naval ops in DCS. Toan
  5. Hi All, I had the priviledge to test Admiral's prototype FREMM Mod , and took some screenshots using the Rescue Helo script from the Moose experts. See below, an AI "NH-90" helo landing on the FREMM, while experiencing rough conditions during sea trials... Note also that the FREMM's Aster missiles are here very effective against air targets... Let's thank unanimously Admiral189 for all his superb ship Mods. Amazing work, indeed, for those interested in naval and naval air ops. Congrats Admiral ! Toan
Fly low.... Toan Hi, Frightening moment during dusk manoeuvers... And the refuleling ship is escorted by two helos... I'm using MOOSE to have the helos hover next to the ships. It works OK, except for the Clemenceau and the Charles de Gaulle carriers, for which, and for some unknown reason, it is impossible to have an AI helo hover near these two carriers below 2500 ft. Maybe it is a conversion problem from FSX to DCS ? So, no Pedro there, which however works fine for the SuperCarrier ships. Fly low... Toan
Quel impact ? Réel et/ou significatif ? Merci d'avance, Toan Hi, Is there any impact on FPS with the new 2.7 version of DCS ? I think this was mentioned on some other forums. Really ? How significant is it ? Thanks, Fly low...
  9. OK, merci Sushy.
Voir l'autre photo ci-dessous. Merci d'avance, Hi, Thanks for this superb and exhaustive Mod ! It is a real pleasure to animate various scenarii with it ! One "small" question : would it be possible to add the label "Marine" to the Navy livery of the NH-90 ? See picture below. One "big" question : although I suppose this requires an update of the 3D model, would it be possible to add to the naval version of the NH-9, the circular dome under the forward fuselage, where the Air-surface radar is located (see picture below). Many thanks for all your superb work, Toan
  11. Hi Sushy, Hi All, Superb job, indeed ! The Tucano has been the basic ab-initio training aircraft for the French Armee de l'Air pilots for years in Salon-de -Provence, southern France. The 50 aircraft were in service there from 1995 to 2009. As such, they never had any underwing loadout, and have never been used in combat ops wearing this flag. They initially had also a red and white livery. It is however currently being replaced by the Pilatus PC-21. Well done Sushy ! Fly low... Toan
  12. Superb screen Sushy ! Incidentally, it also demonstrates the real ability of the Rafale to fly at high AoA and low speed in real life. Excellent job from our "Master & Commander" of Textures Sushy. Well done ! Fly low. Toan
  13. Hi Sushy, Superb job ! For all our DCS friends, the Tucano has been the basic ab-initio training aircraft for the French Armee de l'Air pilots for years. It is however currently being replaced by the Pilatus PC-21. Well done Sushy ! Fly low... Toan
  14. Hi, I am trying the exact same use of the Rescue Helo for the carriers Clemenceau (R98) and Charles de Gaulle (R91) without success so far. Did you solve the problem ? I am new to Moose, so any help is welcome. Thanks, Toan
  15. Hi All, I'm new to MOOSE and think it's a fantastic addition to carrier ops. IMHO,the Rescue Helo is a very realistic addition. So far however, as far as I understand the Moose.lua file, the Helo Rescue ops are milited to the Stennis, Tarawa and to the carriers in the Super Carrier Mod, i.e., CVN-71 Theodore Rossevelt, etc. I'd like to extend the list of available carriers with new ships, e.g., the carriers Clemenceau (R98) and Charles de Gaulle (R91). Is this possible in any simple way ? Can I modify the list of available ships directly in the Moose.lua file or not ? Thanks for your help, Toan
  16. Hi Gemborow, I like your idea for mission post-editing. My request is quite simple here: I have a large mission, involving approximately 50 ships, 30 aircraft, etc. Currently, this mission starts at 08:00. I'd just like to modify this to any time of the day, say: 20:00. Is this possible globally for all the units and groups in the mission, with one command, and how ? Thanks for your help, Fly low....
  17. Pappy, Ok, do you mean that the update by Damienntrix is the one for 14 helos parking ? Because, I run the previous one and the SEM don't park correctly with that previous one, unfortunately. Thanks Pappy and well done for the scenario. I had the chance to meet last the year the commanding officer of the reco Etendard IV P squadron during the Balbuzar op in Bosnia, which was later the Captain of a ASW frigate, if I rmember correctly, as well as the PR officer on board the Foch carrier during that period. 18. Merci d'avance, FLy low...
  19. Hi Sandmonkee, I had several AI wings of attacking aircraft, each one consisting of up to 4 SEM or Rafale equiped with a mix of Exocet and Scalp missiles. Clearly, none of the Scalp ever hit the targets, whereas the Exocet did, at least for about half of them, depending on the range to the target and firing altitude. I usually fly very low approaches, usually less than 200 feet, and climb to 5 to 800 feet for target acquisition and missile firing, and then leave fast, very low also. Fly low...
  20. Hi again, Maybe I wasn't clear enough. All the Scalp attacks were programmed during AI flights, with groups of targets designed in advance. This definitely failed, sadly, whereas similar Exocet attacks in AI missions succeeded. Fly low...
  21. Hey, Maybe these ships that I was targeting with Scalp missiles had powerful ECM and jamming systems. I tested the Scalp and Exocet, while attacking a fleet including the Kuznetsov carrier, the Moskva cruiser and the Pieltsky AA cruiser. I found this last AA cruiser very difficult to sink, although I used several anti-ship wings of EA-6B Prowler equipped with HARM, as well as several SEM and Rafale M wings with Exocet and Scalp missiles. I had to adopt several varying and out of range routes to escape its saturating AA missiles, before I could succeed to destroy it using at least 10 Exocet.... None of the Scalp succeeded to hit the ship, and at least 3 Exocet did. My conclusion here is that you need of course several missile hits to sink a large cruiser or carrier type ship. The attacking wings (2 to 4 aircraft each) followed different routes, flying low attack profiles. They were launched by the Theodore Roosevelt CVN, the Charles de Gaulle and the Clemenceau carriers. Allover, I lost many pilots and aircraft during this attack of 3 strongly armed ships, and I must admit that the Kuznetsov wasn't yet programmed (by me...) to send any Su-33 fighters against my attacking wings.... Complex but challenging scenario that I will work out... Fly low...
  22. Hi, I have the same problem targeting and locking ships equipped with radars, but then launching the Scalp missiles fails. It works with ground targets, though, but not with ships. Thanks for your help, Fly low.
  23. OK, thanks, this is what I observed. One more point is that the planes must not be defined as starting cold or with engine running from a parking slot. See my screenshot above. It works only if they are "aligned on the runway", i.e., ready for a catapult launch. My question was to try to extend this aspect, with realistic parking slots, using the only 2 exact catapults locations and with better aircraft handling while on the carrier. Thanks for all your work ! Fly low...
