Snowplow Mode

No it just looks down at an angle in front of the aircraft. It’s the closest we have to boresight now kind of. Under certain conditions you can slew it around and the HUD targeting box will follow it around so you can designate targets for CCRP attack.

Has anyone figured out how to use snowplow mode??

I turn it on and then what??

After SP:

- Use TMS forward to ground stabilize the pod.

- Slew the cross hair onto the target.

- Fire the laser with first detent trigger to get ranging information.

- TMS forward to ensure the system has target lock.

- Maneuver to place the FPM center on the bomb fall line/steering line.

- When the solution cue start to move downward, press and hold weapons release until ordnance has been release.

-- If dropping LGB: Make a 45º (heading degrees, not bank angle) left turn follow by a right orbit to allow the TGP best view of the target. When the time to impact counter reads 10 to 8 seconds, press and hold first trigger detent to fire the laser and guide the bomb until impact.

Hope that helps.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

So when it works, what does it do? Automatically acquire targets?

Snowplow is a mode where a point is chosen directly ahead of the airplane at half of the FCR GM/GMT/SEA range. The radar scans to provide a continuous mapping picture. Basically you're just looking ahead for whatever like you're on patrol sort of like how the AA radar works instead of the non-snowplow radar modes which are fixed relative to a point.

The airplane is waiting for you to plant that roving "point at the end of a stick" onto the ground. There's no SOI (none of the MFDs have a box outline, no * on the HUD). Once it's down that becomes a temporary steerpoint and all the modes works like they do with normal steerpoints.

Wow ED, three years and SP still not working.

SP is being refined currently, you just need to continue to be patient.
