Try lowering your water detail. You won't see much of the water in the mountains anyway! =)

There is a tweak to entirely disable water rendering effects which GREATLY improve fps. You should try search the forum for it if you're interested.

3 Problems right off the Bat:

1 -

Also graphics are maxed out. 1920x1080

Lower your Graphics Settings.

2 -

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 810 Processor (2600 MHz)

Potential Bottleneck performance-wise.

3 -

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP, 64-bit (Service Pack 2)

Far Superior performance with Win7/Vista.

Assuming, and reasonably so, that you do not want to rectify 1-3, then try the following:

Navigate to your Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\BlackShark\data\scripts folder and open the options.lua with Notepad++ and find the following entries:

["heatBlr"] = 1,

["scenes"] = "high",

["water"] = 1,

["fullScreen"] = true,

["visibRange"] = "High",

["effects"] = 3,

["lights"] = 2,

["haze"] = 0,

["terrPrld"] = "40",

Edit and Save to the following:

["heatBlr"] = 1,

["scenes"] = "high",

["water"] = 0,

["fullScreen"] = true,

["visibRange"] = "High",

["effects"] = 2,

["lights"] = 1,

["haze"] = 0,

["terrPrld"] = "40",

See if that makes a difference.

Additionally, if your Mobo, Processor temps and personal experience allow, try to overclock your CPU a bit, if you can get it to 3 GHz that might give you a great boost.

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Upgrade to Win7/Vista.

You have a Quad-Core CPU, a dual GFX-chip graphics card, probably together with some good amount of RAM, but you are still using an OS that does not benefit from these features.

grant977 DCS max will not put BS on all 4 cores in XP, it will default to core 0. Core 0 is the core that runs your operating system. what I do in set BD to run on core 3 and make sure nuthing els is using core 3. this make my system more stable and gives me 10FPS more. even with XP. Now with my same setup in WIN 7 64 I get 60+ FPS. It is sad that XP can't take advantadge of the cores and ram in the PC's we build.

Your bigist problem is your low mh CPU as BS is a cpu hog.

So what you are saying is that DCS cannot take complete advantage of the quad core capabilities of my processor, or is the processor itself too slow. If that is the case what AMD processor do you reccomend. I thought my was a higher end one when I had the computer built in august.

It's not the processor. It's your operating system. You are using an operating system designed and released when the Pentium II was still passable hardware.

XP has only the most rudimentary capability in handling multicore processors. You will never, ever, get benefits from extra cores in DCS no matter which processor you use while you still run XP. I know everyone likes to bash Vista but it is made to use contemporary hardware and for this reason you get remarkable performance benefits in an application like DCS.

So what you have is a processor that is slightly on the low side in clock speed, which is a disadvantage here, and an operating system that completely blocks DCS from gaining any advantage from the extra cores. My recommendation: swap OS.

I don't think it's released just yet, but there might be evaluation copies available still through MSDN or something such.

EDIT: Apparently the release date is October 22.
