Just got the Su-25A module a few days ago and have been practicing. Last night I flew a flight loaded with 6xFAB500s, which requires 60%+ RPM to get the aircraft to move. What's odd is that on engine start, with RPM maxing out around 40% and idling at 36%, the jet will roll despite me holding the wheel brake key the entire time. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Start engine # 2 first, it power the hydraulics for brakes (among other things). Also, if you hold the brakes during start you won't give them time to build pressure. The SU-25 and 25T have brake pressure gauges in the cockpit, you can check them to ensure brakes are on before starting engine # 1

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

If I'm correct in assuming that #1 is the left engine, then I've been starting it up incorrectly...although that's the procedure used in the Su-25T tutorial....

One other oddity I've noticed is that when taking off with a crosswind I need to apply rudder away from the wind instead of into the wind....not making much sense.

I might be wrong and i don't really know what I'm talking about. But when you are on the ground/low speed would the wind pushing on the larger surface area of the vertical stabilize impart enough rotation to turn the nose towards the direction of the wind requiring rudder in the opposite direction to counter.

Interesting. I don't recall having the same issue with the A-10 but the Su-25's vertical fin is pretty massive.

The wheel brakes are still quite annoying. I can't set my altimeter, flaps, weapons, etc. all while simultaneously holding down the brakes key and there doesn't seem to be any way to map it to my rudder pedal toebrakes.
