I´m not sure about leepara´s solution, you can see reflections of the tft in the upper left corner(2nd image) might be a fake

This is not a reflection/artefact of a photo-edit or whatever,

... its a duplicate what you see on the Monitor below.

Seems he have just used a splitter for the projector.

I don't think it's a fake! ;)

Have a close look again(I marked it for you):

Hud.jpg

I experimented with it one year ago and build up similar things with a "somewhat" overhead projector:

Support to Export the HUD -Please!

- when sleepara will not come up with a instruction the next 2 days I will have a look at it and share my findings.

i agree, but thats not a real export of the hud, the scene is a night scene, at day it will be unusable if you do it this way you will always have the hud doubled when you look through. its not possible to deactivate the hud indication on one screen and to show it on the other one at the same time.

I also agree that this is a late-evening shoot and you may got some difficulties with his "mock-up" setting in daylight .

Also keep in mind that the exposure of a camera is not sufficient to show you what you would see with your own eyes.

BTW: there is no problem to deactivate the HUD in the "HUD-Only-View" - you will have to edit the view.lua to move the in-cockpit HUD out of the camera-view.

But ,

I hope we both agree,

that this is a question of the hardware: projector/lamps/lenses you use - and has nothing to do with exporting the data of the HUD to a surface that can be used as projection...

Sleepara showed that is possible to build your own HUD in a home-cockpit with very little afford.

-point-

So lets discuss this "How-to?/what hardware?" elsewhere - I already opened a thread about this - see one post ago - feel free to open a new.

This thread is about : [How To] Export ALL Indicators like MFCD via ViewPorts

and is cluttered enough already.

And telling that someone makes a "fake" should be done with very great caution on these forum.

;)

Well lets say fake was the wrong word for it, but its definately unusable when u do it this way.

yes its possible to deactivate the HUD very easy (delete hud_ini for example), but its not possible, for the time, to display it on another monitor ( at the same time), isn`t it???if there is a way to adjust the postion of the HUD, tell me please. creating a black fiel elsewhere won`t be a problem.

if you can display on one screen the hud only without a hud and at the same time on one screen with the hud u might get a working mockup with a lense and a beamer.

If there is a solution, please show it. I`m waiting for this months.

the older thread is dead.

well, works in FC2 too, but its only possible to move the position in reference to the viewport, when displacing you will get contortions -> unusable again

Posted

regarding an easy hardware implementation, its very simple without any lense too, just use two pico projectors displaying the same picture and beam the hud onto an 45° mounted glass, you must displace the huds by a few millimeters than you`ll get an infocusHUD when looking onto the surface behind. (i think this is the cheapest method to get the HUD in focus when looking behind)

FoxDelta,

With all due to respect:

But I think you overestimate the expense/workload to build a working HUD,

and your approach seems to me way too complicated and won't work as intended.

Edit:

- when sleepara will not come up with a instruction the next 2 days I will have a look at it and share my findings.

...Two days later...

Here is all you need to know:

How To :HUD Export A10C DCS-World for Real HUD

As this matter is quite complex -and this thread is cluttered more than enough - I decided to give this "HUD-Export" a own thread in the cockpit-builders section.

The HUD is projected over a special single front side transparent glass .

It is 100% functional even in a highly lit room! whether its evening or morning it produces the same image! I PROMISE to post a movie in couple o weeks when my graphics card arrives.

I'm trying to export the RWR to my second monitor with the code on the first page, but it doesn't seem to work with DCS World 1.2.0. I've read other posts in this thread, but nothing seems to help.

Does anyone have any ideas?

When I say it doesn't work, I can get the L&R MFCDs to display, but the RWR just won't show up at all.

EDIT: Found the problem, had name of viewport off by one underscore... n00b

EDIT: Found the problem, had name of viewport off by one underscore... n00b

You can explain this?

I´ve the same problem, in the older A10 I can export all the indicators, but in dcs world 1.2 only export the MFCD. And with the k50 is the same.

We must do something else?

Sorry for my english.

Edit: Isn´t the same problem.

I had the same problem and got tghis answer from PeterP:

Avionicds are now in World\Mods\aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit\Scripts

This have to be modified !

The needet files will be found here:http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/145724/

Not blind copying, you have to change the pathes.

Have not tried it yet due lack of time but will do soon.

Good luck.

The needet files will be found here:http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/145724/

I have also tried that, but still not working...

I think it's better to reinstall the DCS world.

EDIT:

Avionicds are now in World\Mods\aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit\Scripts

??

I have the scripts in "World\Scrips\aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit"

The script are also in "World\Mods\aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit\Scripts" ???

I´m confused

Sorry, you have to copy the 5 or 6 folders (cant check i am on an other omputer now) with the instruments and replace the existing folders and the files inside with this from the zip-file, they are modified to be exportable. Than use the monitor.lua with the exports and fit them to your 2. monitor.

Reinstall world ?? Always make backups of the folders you edit, replace ... than you can easily a step back.

For any reason, my A-10 in world is now , expect radio menus, like in the old version.

I always make backups of the files. This is not the problem.

Please, answer me this:

I have the scripts in "World\Scrips\aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit" huh.gif

The script are also in "World\Mods\aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit\Scripts" ???

I have only changed the scripts/file directories under:

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\A-10C\Cockpit\Scripts

And the config.lua in this directory.

Second step is to edit a monitorconfig in

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\MonitorSetup

Ahhhh .... the _Common - files shoukld go to

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Cockpit

But I have not done this so far !!!!! So the main thing will also work without this step (for me).

But .. PeterP is the expert, I can only report what he told me and what I have done ! Will try it later with the _Common

The file structure has changed in 1.2.0

So this http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/145724/ isn't working any more in 1.2.0 when you blindly follow the read me.

I will correct the download according the 1.2.0 file-structure during the next days.

- Anyway -

It's named not without reason"all Exports in DCS-A10 1.1.1.1 and 1.1.2.1 + Tub view Cockpit-Builders" - so you schould be always very careful when using mods that are not made for the version you are using ;).

....

in the meantime use the attachment.

With this package it should work to enable all exports by simple copy'n'paste also for 1.2.0

I only tested it very briefly - so please report any bugs you may see.

Looks like the content of the files has changed considerably.

No- not a single line of code has changed.

Only the place where to put them.

Looking at the CDU_init.lua and AN_ALR69V_init.lua files now.

Don't know what the changes mean, but there are lots of them.

Off course there is a difference between my files and the original one...

What I wanted to say - I didn't needed to change the files between 1.1.2.1 and 1.2.0 - I only had to change the file-path .
