ScottyBS Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Hi, Tried to create a small practice mission to do some A2A refuel with the Mirage 2000. I can get the tanker setup and a track and orbit ok, whenever I call for pre contact and get the cleared contact - the tanker (I have tried the IL78 and the S3 ---- PLEASE ED GIVE US KC35 with baskets!) the hose extends and the tanker increases it speed by 70-80 knots? What am I doing wrong ? Scott
Coug4r Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 How fast is it flying pre/aft contacting? - If man were meant to fly he'd be filled with helium.
159th_Falcon Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) Got the same problem in 2.0 open alpha. When i am in formation pre-contact he's flying about 320 knots, when i declare im in position to take fuel and the chute comes out he starts accelerating. Highest I've seen so far 355 knots. Even more annoying, after a while he says, "return pre contact" and rather literally hits the brakes. Nearly instantaneously slowing down to 310-320 knots. Another annoying thing that's happening is that once i finally make contact, the tanker starts looping "contact, return pre contact, contact, return pre contact" in an endless loop and I'm not taking any fuel, despite staying connected. See attached mission I'm using, mind you I'm using 2.0 Alpha. (EDIT, the fact im not getting any fuel is prolly because of the fuel transfer switch not being in the correct position:music_whistling:)A-10C CO-OP M-2000C.miz Edited February 22, 2016 by 159th_Falcon [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)
FSKRipper Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 (edited) I can confirm these observations. Created a custom mission with an enroute speed of 300kts @ 12k feet. Closing in worked fine, he seems to hold the speed more or less but when I was "cleared contact" he hit the gas. I stopped the chase after he passed 370 kts. "He" was a IL-78 while I flew a M2000C. Build 1.5.3 Maybe I find time to test it with an A-10 this evening. UPDATE: Tested with the KC-135 and A-10C as receiver, works fine. ScottyBS Posted February 23, 2016 Author Posted February 23, 2016 Thanks guys, That is the sort of result I am getting - anywhere from 70-90 Kts change. And if you call off and want to try and reconnect it goes down ~80 then back up when you call ready on again. Surely this has to be a bug? ED?
Galwran Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Same here. Doesn't the tanker know that Mirage is armed? :P
