Tinkickef Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 In mission editor. It can be a right pain finding full moon and required position in sky on night missions. Due to Mura in my headset, full moon almost overhead is pretty essential for a non foggy experience, limiting time of takeoff. It would be nice to be able to choose moon position and phase in the editor. It really would be a great thing to have as PG is astoundingly pretty in moonlight at around 18,000ft. It would be nice to arrange missions where you takeoff in the dark and return at sunrise. Knock-Knock Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 There is a bug though, with the moon. Example: April 27, 2018, time 18:00. You can see the moon in the blue sky, aprox opposite of the sun. Accelerate the time, and you'll see that the moon suddenly fades out, and it doesnt come back until around 19.30. So in that twilight period, it gets very dark, for then to become moonlit around 19.30. - Jack of many DCS modules, master of none. - Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS. | Windows 11 | i5-12400 | 64Gb DDR4 | RTX 3080 | 2x M.2 | 27" 1440p | Rift CV1 | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind pedals |

Seeing this bug in the mission the 104th is currently hosting, it is incredibly irritating when the moon disappears like this, makes the mission very very difficult due to the severe darkness levels. edit: it also seems to happen at dawn also, just as the moon reaches the horizon it disappears then reappears just before sunrise. AG-51_Razor Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 I am amazed that, as beautiful as ED has recreated a sunset and sunrise, they can't seem to have the moon do the same thing. It IS very irritating to see the world go very dark for that period of time when the moon disappears either rising or setting. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
