I might be mistaking, but to me it looks like you are using a mod in the second "new" sreenshot...seems to be Starways trees.

Thinning out the trees in order to increase FPS?

 

Which would make some sense, except for the fact that I've seen no FPS improvement, and Caucasus has been the smoothest running map for me. I mean, sheesh...

new trees look more detailed but they look somwhow streched and something is wrong with them
