Radio Bug when used with older files/missions

So recently i have spent 3 hours along with some other members diagnosing an issue that i had with the radios not working when a cold start has been performed even when the engine was fully started and all electrical equipment was on. This issue was determined as the old files not working with the newer radios as in the "instant action - cold start" you could start up but not contact Nalchik ATC however when we tried to recreate this in the mission editor we could not, The radio instantly worked when a MIG-21 was on a hot start from the ramp and the MIG-21s radio would work from a cold start in the editor which confused me however i then went into three different multiplayer servers and did the same thing.

On the first two servers all of the radio options were grayed out but when the engine was started it detected it however radio communication was impossible with the ATC. On the final server when i started the engine and had the radio and electric set up it detected and when i go into the ATC options it had one option and the rest were in black.

There was also an instance some other users reported of having to copy and paste the default missions into the editor and save over them to get the comms working for certain aspects.

A different user did the same tests that i did and got the same results in the single player and editor aspect.

This leads me to believe that it is mission files that are causing the errors as the newer ones work with the radio. So the MIG-21 missions for both single and multiplayer need to updated and people need to be made aware of this bug.

So if you crack open the mission editor, you'll see this in the setup for the MiG-21 planes:

Old 1.2.16 missions (including quickstarts):

["AddPropAircraft"] =
{
   ["radiochannel13"] = 137,
   ["radiochannel17"] = 127,
   ["radiochannel09"] = 124,
   ["radiochannel02"] = 121,
   ["radiochannel01"] = 150,
   ["radiochannel10"] = 134,
   ["radiochannel03"] = 131,
   ["radiochannel06"] = 130,
   ["radiochannel04"] = 141,
   ["radiochannel00"] = 124,
   ["radiochannel11"] = 125,
   ["radiochannel08"] = 122,
   ["radiochannel07"] = 133,
   ["radiochannel16"] = 132,
   ["radiochannel15"] = 123,
   ["radiochannel18"] = 129,
   ["radiochannel12"] = 135,
   ["radiochannel05"] = 126,
   ["radiochannel14"] = 136,
   ["radiochannel19"] = 138,
}, -- end of ["AddPropAircraft"]

while when you create a MiG-21 in the new 1.5.1 mission editor, you get:

["Radio"] =
{
   [1] =
   {
       ["channels"] =
       {
           [1] = 124,
           [2] = 150,
           [3] = 121,
           [4] = 131,
           [5] = 141,
           [6] = 126,
           [7] = 130,
           [8] = 133,
           [9] = 122,
           [10] = 124,
           [11] = 134,
           [12] = 125,
           [13] = 135,
           [14] = 137,
           [15] = 136,
           [16] = 123,
           [17] = 132,
           [18] = 127,
           [19] = 129,
           [20] = 138,
       }, -- end of ["channels"]
   }, -- end of [1]
}, -- end of ["Radio"]

Otherwise, the plane definitions seem identical to me. This would appear to be the cause of the radio malfunctions. Not sure why it wouldn't affect hot starts though.

I´ve told about this radio divergence long time ago but almost nobody taked care about it.

The radio channel list in the cockpit started from 01 when it would be from 00 in 1.2.16. Now it seems reverted to 01 as the first radio channel again.

Does the MiG-21 radio channel selector start at 0 in real life?

Every other Russian radio (R-863/R-828 in the Mi-8, R-832M in the L-39C, and the R-828 in the Ka-50) starts at channel 1, and goes to either channel 10 or channel 20.

(I'd expect it to start at 01 to match the others)

I dont know but i think no. The first radio channel should be 01.
