Here is the question:

I have 1.5 and 2.0 on my spin drive.

Want to move them to SSD

How do I edit the paths in the registry?

It isn't just updating the shortcuts on the desktop?

I have to go into the windows registry and find it?

I have No Idea where it is in the registry.

Please help.

Thank you

Just to be safe, deactivate your paid modules and campaigns before doing the above suggested move, just in case that the copy protection malinterprets the movement of files.

For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra

For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar

Okay I went and moved them.

I changed the location in the "shortcuts" and it works.

I have not played it yet, only checked to see if it would launch.

RUdel--- you make a good point though.....

I do not want to deactivate them, because the last time I did this it caused major messup.

What happens if the software goes into (stolen/copy) mode??

make sure update & repair links work as well.

If not, which I assume, you have to edit registry and correct the paths there.

I did a similar move a couple of months ago when I bough my first SSD.

Apart from everything said above, keep in mind that editing the start menu links for "repair" and "update" functions will work allright. However, during any updating process, Your 1.5 install will not copy files from 2.0 and vice versa. Both of them will download the same files form the ED servers separately. Not a big deal if You have a fast internet connection anyway, but If You want them to detect each other as they did previously on Your HDD, open registry editor, and fix folder paths over there.

I'm glad that you could do this move without triggering the copy protection.

Deactivation should work fine, I do this process everytime that my PC has a hardware change, the last time was a couple of month ago, when I upgraded my GTX750 for a GTX770, and it didn't mess up :)

You lose an activation for each module and DLC affected ... it isnt a big deal for modules with 10 activations available ... but campaigns only have three; thats why I prefer to play it safe.

Best regards

I had the same prob n decided to format my ssd so I could have a clean windows only running dcs. For windows anyway, I believe as long as it's the same motherboard then it doesn't count it as a seperate install?? Maybe someone with more knowledge can confirm if that's true or I'm speaking ....

Each install needs an activation, regardless.

What you may heard and refer to is Hyper-V licenses, those you can use on-top of your HW-install as Virtual Machines and are included in Win-SRV OS' lics to a certain amount.
