Hello all, On New Year's day I quietly released a multiplayer sandbox mission for the Mi-24 and other period Soviet aircraft. One week later and with almost 50 downloads and no complaints I am now feeling confident enough to announce it officially. The mission is a sandbox set in a fictional province of Afghanistan in October 1986. Most of the helicopters are based out of FOB 979, a remote base housing a battalion of airborne infantry. The helicopter detachment has been tasked with supplying and supporting the battalion and surrounding outposts in their operations. Players can patrol the 60x120km AO for any of the thousand-plus Mujahideen units. The vast majority of enemy units are infantry and technicals, though MANPADS are an increasing threat. Each is hand-placed and on a randomized spawn tied to a spawning system optimized for best performance. They are mostly hidden in towns but some can be found patrolling the roads or cleverly positioned on hilltops. I made a deliberate attempt to balance the mission mostly on realism, so if you are used to soloing objectives or carelessly flying around you will probably have a bad time. I think it will still be a refreshing change for people used to playing on servers with advanced SAMs and enemy air activity. In addition to patrolling the AO you can take part in one of the dozen tasks available through the F10 menu. Most of these will require one or more friends in the Mi-8 and additional Mi-24s to accomplish successfully. This mission is in beta because I do not have enough wingmen to test all of them, though I have extensively and repetitively reviewed each of their triggers. In addition to the Mi-8 and Mi-24 slots the mission also includes slots for the MiG-21, Su-25, L-39 and Combined Arms. If this sounds interesting, check out the linked mission and read the briefing to learn more. Enjoy! If you have feedback on the mission and want to make suggestions for further development please use this form. If you don't have a wingman or someone to share the cabin with, comment here, check out Hoggit, the Wingman Finder subreddit or the Wingman Finder discord server. If you are an adult, have Syria and one of the needed modules, and can play central/EST, you can also just DM and we can probably fly together. My discord is acs_dev. This is a MULTIPLAYER-ONLY mission. Attempting to run it in single-player will not work.

[Original threat lost, apologies!] Situational Overview Following a REDFOR insurgency post the Falklands war, a new Caudillo has taken over larger parts of the southern tip of South America. BLUEFOR has been tasked to sweep the RED zones South to North and re-establish the previous order. USMC has landed close to Ushuaia and Port Willams and has established a bridgehead. The HMS Invincible provides protection in the channel, the USS Forrestal is crusing east of the mainland. CAP operations has been established from Ushuaia and CTLD/CSAR helicopter operations from Ushuaia Helo Port and FARP London. USMC SOF have been inserted deep into the Phase-One-Zone Rio Grande and provide target information and target markers. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328279/ Background This late cold-war mission is set on the South-Atlantic/Falkland maps. Sound output leverages Text-To-Speech-Generation(TTS) via SRS, best via Google (own account needed) or Windows Desktop (far less voices). For SRS-TTS to work on your PC, consult this guide: https://github.com/FlightControl-Master/MOOSE_GUIDES/blob/master/documents/Moose TTS Setup Guide.pdf Before running, you need to setup the SRS and Load/Save paths correctly to match your system and/or server, and create a folder for persistence. Read and follow the instructions in the README.txt file on how to do that! Help is available via the MOOSE Discord https://discord.gg/aQtjcR94Qf Version history * Features SRS-TTS * Features Persistence * Build with Moose * V1.41p1 - Phase One Initial Community Release * V1.42p1 *** Removed dependency on WWII Assets and A-4-EC. *** Made the config an external file, see README.txt for details on how to adjust. *** Repaired ground saving and loading. * V1.43p1 *** All F1CE and M2K now belong to France, not the US *** SOF messages timing changed * V1.44p1 *** Improved Conquer Airbase Logic *** Exchanged AWACS Voice (now faster) to avoid overlaps * V1.45p1 *** Marker creation on conquered Airbases for CTLD loading zones now lighter. * V1.46p1 *** Added two Spanish F1EE in Puerto Williams SRS Output Demo from the Mission (YouTube)

We're looking to provide as many Air Traffic Controllers and Aerospace Battle Managers we've ever seen for an operation. Blocks are all back to back, if you wish to sign up for 3 back to back (6 hours straight), it will be structured to include down time or QRA ground alert taskings. So far we have 50 people from the above groups attending and increasing rapidly. Our limit is 80 people per time block. Please join our discord and say hello to receive your group roles: discord.gg/dcaf Website: https://dcafoc.wixsite.com/home Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/DCAF YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCu9nifnGxNcLOuS6IeI6VQg Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/DigitalCoalitionAirForce Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/digitalcoalitionairforce/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/DCAF_Official APPLY FOR DCAF MEMBERSHIP: https://forms.gle/fhxwzxAJVBjYfU779 AGE RESTRICTIONS: Due to the Digital Coalition Air Force’s primary function being to use DCS World, which is a combat flight simulation game, a minimum participant joining age of 18 Years of Age is required. This is to protect younger members from potentially distressing material related with warfare discussions. The age of 18 Years of Age has been selected as it is a generally agreed upon age of Adulthood and self determining legal consent (particularly in the EU, UK and USA). Members younger than 18 Years of Age may apply, but will not be considered for application until after their 18th Birthday. Members that are later found to have lied about their age and stated that they were older than 18 Years of Age in their application, or at the time of joining, when they were in fact younger, will be removed from the DCAF and their application to join will not be considered in the future.

A flyover has been requested by Las Vegas Speedway this weekend and your unit has been tasked with performing the show. Use the ToS/ToT feature and on your jet, communication and timing skills to perform a precise flyover for the National Anthem. This is a great way to train for Time on Target missions, or for those who love airshow flying. - Perform a precise flyover for the National Anthem at Las Vegas Speedway. - Fly either an F-18c or F-16c_50 - Approx. time: 25min (you'll spend about 10-15min holding and turning circles if you get up in the air too fast. This is designed to help people get into formation/position) - Practice holding in a position to wait for the ToT/ToS call. Try to maintain 45-60sec turns. - Fly either A 4-ship formation where your Lead is the only one concerned with ToT/ToS Or fly to separate waypoints and meet up over the center of the stadium at the exact time. - Communicate with your wingmen to deconflict altitude. The stadium already as fireworks and doesn't need more. - Don't rely on the carrot symbol on your HUD, but follow your directed Ground Speed to be more accurate. NOTE: This mission was made using Hasard Lee's youtube video "How Flyovers Work" as reference. I am not an actual pilot. Any comments/suggestions welcome. Thanks!
