Well that manuever is done at very slow speed, it's not that impressive.

Of course, but still, come on, you do it!

Hey I didn't say it wasn't impressive, I just said it isn't "where are my physics gone" impressive. Edited by Gliptal

Of course, this is MiG 29 OVT, with vectored thrust

The magic vectored thrust does huh?!

You'd make for a lousy physics teacher, oh well, opinions will remain unchallenged.

It's not like it's going at 350 knots and all of a sudden it pulls three rotations with insane AoAs: from the video I would guess it's going slow, needs a bit of climbing angle to start with, then "simply" lets the nose fall "over it's back" while constantly trading altitude. It's impressive from a visual standpoint, but I see nothing insane on the physics level and I doubt something like this is useful in anything but airshows. It's not unique either, since I'm pretty sure I've seen a Typhoon do the same manuever (although admittedly with only a single loop at the top).

We live in a world where C-27Js can do a full loop, fly half a runway in a knife position, make 90° only rudder turns 2 seconds after takeoff, and repeated full clearing turns. That's a lot more impressive than a nimble fighter performing loops at near stall speed if you ask me.

You're right, some Su 30 can do it, F-22...these are post-stall maneuver, so you need vectored thrust to do that. So it's a no go for Typhoon.

It's different from going vertical stall and let the nose go down backward.

I stand corrected, was foiled by the similar manuever. I still think it's not that impressive though. :D

I agreed with you that's it's flying slow jackass. Obviously the combination of negative stability and vectored thrust allows those planes to perform such manoeuvres. Either way, stop trying to disprove that tumbling 16 tons in the air like that is impressive.

Fine? How come most of the people take things personally as soon as they find someone with a different opinion. Why are you calling me a jackass? Is it because we find different things impressive?

Chill out. :D

I literally agreed to disagree with you and you carried on trying to prove me wrong.

I wasn't prooving you wrong, I was explaining my reasoning. It's not like every time you see an explanation it's to be inferred someone is trying to convince you. And I'm not the one that resorted to insults to make his point.

Maybe jackass is a compliment, depends on opinions. I'll say sorry if we quit this, otherwise 1v1 2000C against 2000C duel.

Anyway gentlemen this has nothing to do with Mirage 2000. It begun with a slightly off topic nice joke about some movie stupid virtual stunt, it doesn't worth to fight :music_whistling:

Hey that's a good idea. I hope the developers take that on board - cause I'm not sure they thought about releasing before.

Understand him, some people started to peel off them faces as a matter of fact im on my way, seeking medical he

Not impressive because Russian aircraft, but if French mirage you would been impressive? LOL

The Attack Viggen should not really be compared to a Mirage 2000C though.

No more then a Tornado Gr.1 or Sepecat jaguar should be compared to the Mirage 2000C.

As it is an attack aircraft and not a fighter so while it has some Air-Air Capabillities it was not ment to go head to head with fighter aircraft.

The Fighter Variant of the Viggen on the other hand is very comparable to the Mirage having many advantages but being less of a dogfighter.

But the variant we are getting (so far) is the AJS-37 attack viggen

(AJS is a weapons upgrade for the AJ-37)

and thus is very different beast from the Fighter variant or a Mirage 2000C.

I don't think the AJS Viggen has much of a chance against the M2000C. It is an attack variant that can only carry the Sidewinder for defensive purposes, has no Air to Air radar, and AFAIK has no internal gun (I could be wrong about that last part). A M2000C pilot would have to be pretty incompetent (or surprised and ambushed) not to win that fight, now a JA Viggen, well thats another story.

MIG 21 probably stands more of a chance v Mirage 2000C than a plane built for ground attack as mentioned.
