GADGET Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Hi I am new to DCS World although really old when it comes to flight simming. I would like to fly the DCS A-10C and re-learn from there, but I have a problem. I am using HELIOS and a second touch screen monitor as an instrument panel. It worked fine (regarding fps performance), until I tried to run it with 1.2.7 a couple of days ago. I noticed that none of the prevously exported information worked. So I updated the MONITOR SETUP, deleting the ED_A10C_ prefix for the exported instruments, but it only works with teh right and left MFD, no with RWR, UHF COMM repeater, clock, nor CMSC anymore. This is the actual monitor configuration file: _ = function(p) return p; end; name = _('EXTERNAL INSTRUMENT PANEL'); Description = 'Uses a second 1920x1080 LG 23ET83 monitor as an instrument panel' Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 2560; height = 1600; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 1.6; } } ED_A10C_RIGHT_MFCD = { x = 3968; y = 120; width = 445; height = 445; } ED_A10C_LEFT_MFCD = { x = 2625; y = 120; width = 445; height = 445; } ED_A10C_UHF_REPEATER = { x = 3214; y = 701; width = 114; height = 25; } ED_A10C_CLOCK = { x = 3038; y = 825; width = 126; height = 126; } ED_A10C_CMSC = { x = 3416; y = 138; width = 228; height = 52; } ED_A10C_RWR = { x = 3158; y = 161; width = 181; height = 181; } GUI = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 2560; height = 1600; } UIMainView = GUI On the other hand, when selecting a second monitor option performance really decays until flying becomes difficult. I already checked it is a DCS problem, not HELIOS. I have a high-end computer, Intel® Core i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz 6 cores, two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 on SLI, both monitors plugged to the same video card, Windows 7 Professional 64, 64 Gb of RAM, solid state HD for OS and 1 TB HD for aplication istalations. I do not know what to do to fix those problems I would appreciate your help Thank you

SkateZilla Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) Hello, SLI is not the problem... read this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=70716 you must activate the view port export function CU Micha That method shouldnt work in 1.2.7, I think there's a new method, that's easier to setup exported indicators. GADGET Posted February 21, 2014 Author Posted February 21, 2014 thank you SkateZilla Downloading and configuring Although, as I said, the presentation of a second monitor instrument panel was solved by running Easy Monitor Configurator aplication, that I wolud imagine would do the very same thing as renaming the correspondent luas. What I am also concerned is the performance problem, that is not related to DCS visuals, ad it is related to data exported that somehow ralentizes the system til the point it is unflyable.
Warhog Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Gadget... Curious if you fixed the performance issues you've been having. I sympathize as I too have had major issues with the latest versions of both Helios and DCS. My setup is very similar except I use an i5 processor. I use the LOZ profile unmodified. One problem I did fix was issues with several OSB switches in Helios getting stuck and not turning off. It appears that an antivirus program may have caused this. I stopped running it when I fly and the problem, so far, has disappeared. The other thing I did was to use nvidia Inspector to help set my GTX780 settings. Performance did increase but it didn't solve my biggest problem. And that is the occassional latency issues in Helios that sometimes makes flying almost impossible. It's not always present in game but it when it does show up it's a game stopper and I don't know how to prevent or eliminate it. Unfortunately, it has been extremely difficult to get help. Sorry I can't provide much help but I will be monitoring this thread in hopes somebody with the knownledge needed to fix this will step up and assist. Best of luck. Regards John W aka WarHog. GADGET Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 Hi warhog No. Issue still very present so I decided to swith to iL-2 CoD for a while and using the same export rutines I have no problems with VIRTUAL COCKPIT application. I am convinced it has something to do with a second monitor setup with all DCS simlations. I am still waiting for a solution. The real solution would be having electromechanical instrumes, such as the SimMeters A-10C full cockpit, using canbus protocols, but at 70,000 euros tag it is out of my reach.
