Jimbolya Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane's_Fighters_Anthology But in a modernized version via DCS World. *** probably gonna get a pie in the face for this one lol ***
kontiuka Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I still own USNF'97. Many hours were spent on it.

Jimbolya Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 I'd probably try to find it and run it on my machine just for old times sake lol. The variety was killer.
SkateZilla Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) I'm actually waiting for it to become freeware, lol, my Blue Disk has a scratch that I cant fix.. :( i think my neighbor (another Flight sim enthusiast) has a blue disc if I need it, Good luck finding the Patches and LIBs that fixed alot of bugs., I had all of P.Moks Libs on a CD somewhere, cant find it, along with the Program to make my own LIBs. (Flight Sim Toolkit I think?) Edit: there's one site with every LIB from that Era, plus patches, Plus libs released in 2013 all for download, ut ohs.. might be knocking on my neighbors door after work. For simplicity and planes sake, the closest thing to Fighters Anthology is Strike Fighters, 1000's of planes, simplified avionics, etc. Edited February 19, 2014 by SkateZilla Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

Jimbolya Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 Ha - good to see I'm not the only one that remembers this classic. To me DCS world is a solid foundation. The challenge: all the work to make it real. I think ED is on the right path with third parties. I really don't care who makes the air craft to be honest, just that the work gets done. The business contracts behind the scenes really don't interest me that much lol - as they shouldn't =). If you guys do find a good link for FA send me a PM - I'd make it a weekend to install and run it. Might be good for some of us to get back to the roots of flight sims every now and then...

The challenge: all the work to make it real. To me, the challenge would be more along the lines of: paying for all the stuff and then to learn flying just one airframe decently. :D I also spent a lot of hours with FA, especially the Ukraine and Vietnam campaigns. Good fun, hopefully we'll have maps & airplanes covering these scenarios, eventually. Speaking of old sims, I also fondly remember a little game called Gunship 2000... :)

Aircraft: A-10C, Ka-50, UH-1H, MiG-21, F-15C, Su-27, MiG-29, A-10A, Su-25, Su-25T, TF-51
