camsr Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Testing my configuration, I had the FPS counter open my entire flight, and noticed a steady decline in FPS anywhere in the map after an hour. It was attributed to Scene: Parse and it was peaking around 35ms. I don't know what that is and searching the forum had nothing to say about it. My only guess is it relates to track recording, which also seems to be hardcoded into the game and is impossible to disable. I am going to take one last approach on fooling the game to not record tracks, I think it's possible if I disable write access to the Tracks/Multiplayer folder. Disabling read access prevented the game from booting. Please stop coding LUA and make your game work.

camsr Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 The problem is assuredly the game, not the install.
BabylonCome Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I have the same issue, up until 1.26 I had no issues and could play multiplayer for hours, since this patch I go from 50fps to about 4 fps on or about the hour of playing mark making the game impossible to play. Stop multiplayer and restart and fps is good again until the hour comes up... Please find a resolve for this issue as it is making the game unplayable in multiplayer... My specs: MoBo: AsRock 990FX Extreme CPU: AMD 4170 (4.2GHz Quad) RAM: 8Gb Corsair DDR3 1600MHz GPU: AMD 280X Toxic (3Gb) Game installed on Samsung 1Tb HDD 64Mb Cache Game settings are all on High but have reduced them to Med but with the same issue, this is not system related but software as everything was good before the last big patch. SkateZilla Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) I wonder if AMD is having a DX9 Memory Leak.. Doubt it, but it's possible. Also, I play for upwards of 4 hours at a shot online with no problems what-so-ever on Eno's. Check you RAM/Pagefile usage and track it, when the page file fills up, Windows starts expanding it, Which pretty much kills the performance of anything running until the Page file maintenance is complete. I don't think this problem is isolated to AMD GPUs. Atleast one of my squad mates disconnects and rejoins after flying for a while, with an Nvidia GPU, due to performance degradation. http://104thphoenix.com/
Scoggs Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 (edited) I had this problem while playing last week. Think it was a bit more than an hour though. I am using steam for updates though. Was playing the weapons training mission. Only me and a friend and I was hosting the server too. Specs are in my signature. I alt tabbed out when I noticed the fps drop. I was at about 5.7GB ram usage in total. Dont remember what the game was using. Tone71 Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Flying the A-10C online the other night and the game froze when I switched to external view. Anyway, brought up Task Manager and noticed RAM usage for DCS was steadily increasing every second; I watched it go up to 3 gig before I quit the process. Windows 10 Home, Intel Core i7-9700K @ 4.6GHz, Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (8GB VRAM) on 34" LG curved monitor @ 3440x1440, 32GB RAM, TrackIR 3 (with Vector Expansion), Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Combat Pedals, Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs.
SkateZilla Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 What aircraft do you typically fly Skate? Mainly A-10C, But I have every module, and have flown them all for considerable amounts of time per session. If it's happening on both AMD and nVidia then it's likely a Memory/Pagefile event. Quitting out of DCS and rebooting it clears the Pagefile of the DCS Data being stored. So if it was full, and trying to expand/clear data, quitting pretty much resolves that issue and Windows Carries on whatever it was doing. Try to track Page file size and usuage for 3 hours of DCS Game play. BabylonCome Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Thanks for replies peeps... Interestingly enough I was hosting a server as I usually do with my squadron. However, last week I set my laptop up with the basic free DCS in order for it to act as server leaving my main rig to act on its own. I haven't had a proper test doing it this way yet other than a quick one just to check if the laptop/desktop connection works on my router - which it did. So I will set up a session and have a good fly around and see if the performance drops after a while. We mainly fly A10c but have also noticed it with the Huey - on same training mission. ED Team NineLine Posted March 13, 2014 ED Team Posted March 13, 2014 Ok, if it is the hosting issue, keep an eye on your memory usage, record it at the start and if you have issues, check your usage then. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

This has also been reported. I would host before(maybe 4 months ago) for about 8hours with no drop. Same mission too. Maybe it has to do with us destroying things? I am not sure the cause, I know they are looking into it, and they have a mission that causes the issue but dont know if they have narrowed it down to the cause yet, perhaps try a different mission. But I think we will have to wait for a fix. Edited March 13, 2014 by NineLine Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

BabylonCome Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I've just flown nearly 2 hours using my laptop as the server and in the cockpit on my main rig. Took off, flow to Texaco (about 45 min flight), took on some fuel and headed back to base (on our training mission) with zero drop in FPS. So it seams for me it was running both server and client on the same system was the reason for performance drop. I have put my settings all back up to high and will try again at some point in the next few days to see if all stays good. [RIP] BabylonCome - CO Razorbacks Squadron www.rustyinplaces.org
