I've been away for several months as life's been keepy me busy but yesterday I fired up A-10C and created a quick and simple mission. To make sure all AI's behave like intended I parked a single A-10 on the ramp, started the mission and, once the mission was running, I hit F10 to get to the mission map (hoping to see the AI war unfold) but nothing happened! I then tried all the other F-keys but nothing happens, whatsoever.

Also, if I hit ESC and then click "Change Controls" (not sure that's the exact wording) from the dialog nothing appears (no edit controls dialog appears). Also, having done that ESC no longer seems to be working. I had to Alt-Tab out of the sim to kill the process, just to end the mission.

I have double checked the key bindings from the main menu options and F10 is indeed set to the campaign map. I have also made sure realism allows me to see AI on the map but unless the map appears there's not much point I guess.

I realize I might be missing something very basic that I've forgotten about.

Can anyone give some hints?

Thanks

Try removing the input Keyboard.lua file from the x:\Users\xxxxxx\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\A10C\Keyboard, this will cause DCS to re-create it when you start the program.

Read about issues with using older input files with the new program version.

Re-start and give it a shot.

Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately it didn't work. If there's a problem with the input config files, is there some trick to retain our settings as new versions are release, or are we left to manually recreate them every time?

When you created the mission did you enable views in the ME and also in your options settings? The change controls feature is not available in MP missions if that's what you are doing.

Yes, views are enabled both in the game options and in the mission. I might add that NO views seems to be working. Tapping the NUMKEYS for example have no effect, despite the options tying them to internal views.

I'm considering a re-install. What's the easiest way to unregister my serial numbers so that I don't loose an install? Will uninstalling a module from the "MODULES" tool also unregister the serial number and increase the no. of available installs?

Try a DCS World repair first. If that doesn't work try re-namng your saved games DCS file to DCS1. Open DCS and any mission so it builds a new one to see if that works. You can always delete the new file and re-name DCS1 back to just DCS and you will undo the change.

Go to module manager in DCS. On the installed Tab unchecked the boxes to deactivate, then restart and doublecheck all modules are unchecked. Now reinstalled. Then login to the module manager with your account and reinstalled/reactivate all your modules. Should work flawless and not eat up any license activation.

I re-installed and now it all seems to be ok.

By the way: Is it possible to use the same install from two different Winbdows bootups? I have two Windows configurations and would like to be able to run DCS World from the same folder location. I imagine that's entirely possible if modules configuration etc. is loaded from local files (not from regitry). I do understand that saved games etc. is always on a per-windows boot (profile) but I can live with that.

Cheers

I had the same issue - I went in and looked at my Axis Commands - it had View Controls set to the Mouse, TrackIR, and Headtracker (a remnant of Facetrack NoIR that I need to get taken care of).
