Hey guys,

 

Made a quick Life Raft Mod (with pilot) for Highwayman-Ed. Great for those CSAR sea missions. Feel free to mess with the textures for a better looking raft. The unit is moveable as a ship located under Ships > Life Raft.

 

Changelog:

-Two working red lights

-Small tweak to boat texture

-LOD set to 1km for lights to be visible

- Smoke (green, red, yellow)

I am looking into a strobe light, but it might have to be a steady light due to the argument list. You can add smoke via triggers very easy due to this being a unit under SHIPs.

As to any other ship, you can add a trigger "SMOKE MARKER ON UNIT" or "SIGNAL FLARE ON UNIT"...

 

This not mean that I do not appreciate having a strobe light...

Yes it's a good idea because this raft is very small and not easy to found.

this requires a bit of Mission Editor Knowledge, and there are more ways to accomplish that...but to explain it quite simple

 

Set up a Trigger Zone which is gonna be crossed or entered by your Helicopter

set a trigger "when your Helicopter enters that zone"

set an Action " the Life Raft should fire Flares"

Hi Skull,

the best way to learn how the mission editor works is just "analysing" some other Missions..so take a Mission where a unit uses Signal Flares (there is one in the Huey Campaign...not sure which one it was), and look how the Triggers are set...it is not that complicated..but a bit hard to explain exactly in a thread

of course..you can open/edit any mission in the ME. And in DCS a Campaign is just a set of single Missions put in a row with the Campaign Editor

Got the lights working, also added a test self-illumination beacon to the boat for increased visual acquisition at night. Tell me what you think.

In the real life this green zone is exist ?

If it's not the case, is it possible to see this green zone just with the NVG and not with the naked eye ?

I will probably just remove the Green X and work on the boat texture. The lights work great though.
