Hi, guys!

I'm not 100% sure, If you go up high enough in DCS Flaming Cliffs3, the sky will be black? Yesterday, in DCS Flaming Cliffs 3, I got up to 91,000 feet and the blue sky is almost black! Thanks!

Cheers,

Vincent

Open the door, Hal....

The Hornet is best at killing things on the ground. Now, if we could just get a GAU-8 in the nose next to the AN/APG-65, a titanium tub around the pilot, and a couple of J-58 engines in the tail...

Hi, Tigercat!

Oh, I didn't know I have an in game screenshot button. I took that photo from the ipad. @Blackwolf, yes, I consider myself an astronaut when I go up to 84,300 feet. What is the highest altitude you have gone up to in FC3? Thanks!

Cheers,

Vincent

It's normal for the sky to be dark up in those altitudes. You are neearing space and the remaining atmosphere you have between you and space "vacuum" is quite thin. The sky is blue because of sun light reflecting off of our atmosphere, up there there's a lot less molecules for light to go through and reflect off until it reaches your eyes.

One question: HOW???!!!

It is an easier way to see that by F11 key (free view), or shooting an AIM-120 upward from high altitude. But flying an eagle there would surely be more fun (a bit tricky, though)!

Hi, Kesmonkey!

116,300 feet?? Holy mackerel! That is about 22 miles up! The sky in your screenshot is definitely black!!

Cheers,

Vincent
