Home Fries Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 (edited) If you use the liveries folder in your Saved Games\DCS folder, and/or you us a custom texture folder, then open autoexec.lua in DCS World\Config\ModelViewer and add the following lines: mount_vfs_liveries_path("C:/Users/<username>/Saved Games/DCS/Liveries") mount_vfs_texture_path("C:/Users/<username>/Saved Games/DCS/Textures")Replacing <username> with your windows login folder name and adjusting your texture path as required. Note that you must use forward slashes, so you cannot just copy and paste the path from Windows Explorer. Optional: You can also use autoexec.lua to choose which model and skin comes up by default. This is useful if you're working on one particular skin. For example, when I was working on my HML-167 "Santa 1" skin I chose the ab-212 model (AB-212 is the civilian designation for the UH-1 Huey, so showing you this is why I used it as an example) and for the skin entry I chose the "uh-1h" livery folder and the Santa 1 folder name. Here are those entries: LoadModel("Bazar/World/Shapes/ab-212.edm") LoadLivery("uh-1h","USMC HML-167 Santa 1 1969")Then just run ModelViewer.exe and have at it! If you want to look at other liveries or models you may want to select the View -> Dialogs menu and enable "Show Folder Browser" and "Show Liveries Dialog." Home Fries Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Both the liveries path and the other texture path (i.e. "Wunderluft" are preceeded by "--", remming out the line (so it doesn't actually do anything). Same with the LoadModel and LoadLivery commands. Everything else is default. If you use DCS World/bazar, you don't need to add any paths to the autoexec.lua. What you have now should be sufficient. Just run ModelViewer.exe and as long as you don't get orange textures you should be fine. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide

Home Fries Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 The one from the EDM thread is a modelviewer that can be run independent of DCS, but you won't have the default textures ready. There's also a modelviewer.exe that comes with your DCS World install and it is located at DCS World\bin\Modelviewer.exe. Use that one. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
joey45 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 make a .bat file with bin\ModelViewer.exe in your root directory. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. GeorgeLKMT Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Do what joey said, make a bat file and ModelViewer will open without any dll error. Then: 1. Open your desired model (File -> Load model...). They're in \DCS World\Bazar\World\Shapes\ folder. 2. Go View -> Dialogs -> Show liveries dialog and select the model and the livery you need. Done. Of course, those textures must be installed in your DCS first. If you make some changes to your textures, select View -> Reload model and select the livery in the liveries window again. ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■
