egaRim Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 Good evening there! When flying the Su-25 I often have the problem, that the compass in my HSI isn't indicating the correct heading. For example when I lineup on Runway 22 it indicates heading 310. It's hard to reproduce this issue but I have heared from fellow pilots that the same problems occurs with them. It's online as well as offline. Course indicator seems to work correctly, though. Do I have to pay attention to something particular when I start up the Frog? I usually just activate electric power and after the ADI has settled down, I run up the engines one by one. Maybe someone can help or give hints...
S77th-GOYA Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 If I remember correctly, you must sit idle on the ramp for a certain amount of time to allow the gyros time to spin up. 3 minutes?

ED Team Olgerd Posted February 23, 2006 ED Team Posted February 23, 2006 If I remember correctly, you must sit idle on the ramp for a certain amount of time to allow the gyros time to spin up. 3 minutes? Yes. 3 minutes. Unfortunately it was not reflected in the manual. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] К чему стадам дары свободы? Их должно резать или стричь. Наследство их из рода в роды Ярмо с гремушками да бич.
EmteZogaf Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 After activating electric power? (i guess so)

egaRim Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 Aha... thank you very much.. This should really be included in the manual ;)
Shaman Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 It is the same with Su-25T. You can get diffrent heading on HUD and HSI. By pressing [1] (nav mode) after electrics came on and HSI heading is stabilized HSI becomes kinda locked to correct heading so I can begin to taxi without breaking the instrument. I don't think I wait 3 min. Just remember to press [1] after the first time you turned avionics/electrics on 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
junae Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 So, let's see if I got it: I have to wait those 3 minutes before or after start engines? ;) =FN= Six o'Clock Member of Falcões da Noite Squadron Florianopolis :: Brazil
VapoR Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 So, let's see if I got it: I have to wait those 3 minutes before or after start engines? Before. My procedure: -Turn on power and lights -Watch for the HSI to finish rotating -Start engines -Select enroute mode (first nav mode) -Begin taxiing
junae Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Thanks Vapor I'll try to remember that, next time I startup my 25T... See ya! ;) =FN= Six o'Clock Member of Falcões da Noite Squadron Florianopolis :: Brazil
192nd_Erdem Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Oh, I always wondered why the navigation in Su-25T and 25 was so crap. The navigation cue doesn't stay on a correct line, instead it just rotates right or left in a time randomly I always thought this was a bug or something realistic :) Isn't it a bit late to announce that it's been modelled?
Weta43 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 There was discussion about it when 1.0 first came out. Cheers.
junae Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Isn't it a bit late to announce that it's been modelled? Yeah, I never see such procedures in any Patch readme... ;) =FN= Six o'Clock Member of Falcões da Noite Squadron Florianopolis :: Brazil
