mherssens Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Hello all, First of all, thank you all for the helpful posts you keep writing here. I have been a bit of a lurker on theses forums but I have learned so much here about DCS and the F15C. I have a small problem with the F15c, though. It seems when I am on the ground and try to turn the aircraft with my rudders/NWS, the F15 turns so slow. Prior the update, it had a bigger turn rate. Hell, i could even do a U turn on the runway. now i end up in the grass. If I check my nose wheel (with external view), it only angles of less then 30 degrees to any side. So, anytime I try to leave a bunker and I have to turn, I end up in the grass because it has now a wider turn rate. Even worse, I often just crash into the opposite bunker. No matter if I go slow or fast. I checked my X52 pro settings (I use the twist on the joystick, not the pedals) and everything works fine. the control panel doesn't show any weird behaviour of my joystick. I tried different settings on the curvature (currently is 5% DZ, +23% curvature) but to no avail. In flight, when I am doing a 45 to 85 degree bank, my rudder isn't strong enough to keep me from slipping. in fact, it seems that it doesn't do anything. before the patch, it could drastically slow the slipping or even cancel the slip completly. what am I forgetting or doing wrong? thanks in advance mherssens ps: I have tried google and search engine here, but can't find anything related to my problem
joey45 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 While on ground you need to press and hold Nose Gear Steering. Or Nose Gear Maneuvering Range. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. mherssens Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 Concerning the rudder issue: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=123714 thank you, that's actually a good discussion in that thread. Although, I am not sure who is right or wrong. we will see how this turns out. it's one of my lesser concerns.

SinusoidDelta Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 Nose wheel range allows the nose gear to be turned further. I can't remember the number of degrees. It's mapped to the "S" key by default. Only use it at very low speeds for sharp turns. If rudder is applied when the nosewheel touches down you'll likely wind up with a "tank slapper", veering from one side to the other. Obviously this gets worse the faster you land. Make sure you are landing at the proper speed. Aerobrake as long as possible, setting the nose down around 90kts. Continue to hold full aft stick and gradually apply brakes. If you are braking over a long distance don't use maximum brakes. I usually apply half of max as shown on the controls indicator (rctrl+enter).

Chipwich Posted September 12, 2016 Posted September 12, 2016 I also add a curve to my rudder axis at about 25 seems to work smoothing out those takeoff and landing inputs.
