One of the DoW guys helped me some after ruining my day for about an hour. Try using one click of flaps (10%?) which helps quite a bit with making tighter, smoother turns. They really need to put on a fighter clinic to help some of us catch up with the tricks/tactics so the community will grow. I've been out of WWII flight sims for probably 10 years now and its taking some time to catch up.

Rumour has it DavidRed sold his soul in Georgia for an under worldly tolerance to high G and general defiance of Newtonian physics.

Beware the principials of energy fighting. If he enters the battle with more energy than you than he propably will turn longer very tight than you can etc. As mentioned flaps help increasing your turning rate therefore bleeding your energy faster off.

The P-51D has a corner velocity of about 280 mph making a 550ft turn radius with said speed, 8G and flaps down.

You can train with an unarmed AI in the editor who will also do many turning maneuvers and yoyos, they are excellent with their energy management so one can learn from it :)

Some say, DavidRed never uses flaps because he really was a little ugly duckling who always wanted to be pretty. He never got prettier but he grew up to be a bad angry motherf***. :gun_rifle:

I remember when sex was safe and flying was dangerous.

Hello, Sorry for my english (google traslator). I say that the pilot DavidRed P51 DCS in an excellent manner, and only with the 'flight experience with the P51 and the practice of' use of flaps are unable to get to that level.

ok, im convinced that Charly has no problem at all to understand the principals of aircombat.the AI is good to practice for the beginning, but even if you manage to kill it every time, and then go online for the first time, and encounter an only average experienced online P51 pilot, you will be a victim and nothing more.

turning against the AI has nothing in common with turning against an experienced human player.

also the corner velocity you are speaking of, is something you definitely do not want to maintain if you are in a sustained turn at least.so while all you say is true Zabuza, its of little use in MP, at least as long as we are fighting P51vsP51.

just my two cents.

the ugly duckling who always wanted to be a dolphin and therefore sold his soul, and still remained a bad angry motherf***, does use flaps, but most importantly, focuses on the turn and bank indicator more than anything else...i dont say thats the way to do it, and i dont consider myself in a position to give dogfight tutorials...

but of course, everybody can join us on the server, and on teamspeak, there we will gladly help anybody to ride that stall and turn like a dog...

btw, Charly....are you Chuck from the 71st???

Saetta!one of my most feared enemies!i have the deepest respect to you as a person, and your flying skills mate!shall we fight many more dogfights!

i can speak for the whole Dogs of War Group, when i say, you are a win for our server, we appreciate you, you are ace!

Yep, I'm that same Chuck. Furious and I tried to get on your arse for a couple of flights but we were just... puzzled at how freaking good your flying was. I managed to shoot some guys down, but the second you got on my butt I knew I was already dead.

well, i know you guys from the 71st are all good pilots.i still remember some excellent dogfights above the channel.

my guess is, that you just have to get used to dcs and its really advanced flight model, and you will soon catch up...everytime i see good pilots from clod joining a dcs p51 mp session for the first few times, they all struggle.so did i.but i guess the biggest difference between you and me is just, that i quit flying clod about ~2years ago, and sold my soul to the p51 entirely.(of course only until we get a butcher or a K, that was the deal)
