Sceptre Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Yeah, you NEED rudder pedals to fly well in the UH-1/Mi-8 but not so much for the Black Shark as it has little to no torque because of the coaxial rotor system. And if you are experiencing "Twitching" make sure you set up your axis curves properly! Leo Showers Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Extremely coincidental that ED cuts Steam activation from their online store after announcing a sale. I'm wondering if roping people in with a lower price and then cutting Steam was an underhanded business tactic. I don't think it's conducive to building a larger community and now I will not be buying DCS P51 or Huey because it is full price on Steam.

I'm wondering if roping people in with a lower price and then cutting Steam was an underhanded business tactic. Take a rest. No conspiracy here. I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner, reasons already found for example here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=125458 I don't think it's conducive to building a larger community and now I will not be buying DCS P51 or Huey because it is full price on Steam. So just wait next sale on Steam. I'll stop feeding trolls now.. "I would have written a shorter post, but I did not have the time."
Nerdwing Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Oh, so its just "Cant use your Steam version of DCS World for new keys, add new ones to your basic install instead" sort of thing? Just add your other install as a Non-Steam Game, and things should be a-ok :)

Arkay Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Summer Sale Hey everyone! So as we all know theres a massive summer sale on right now for DCS games (im posting this here because i feel like it would relate to most people on World than anything) but i have just a simple question. Will the sale prices transfer over to Steam? Or will they just stay on the DCS website? If the case is that they stay on the DCS website, and an individual does purchase one of the add-ons, how do we go on adding the content to the already made steam folder? Any help is appreciated! Thanks :) ~Arkay
cichlidfan Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 The sale is on ED's site only. As of today, keys purchased on ED's site will not work on Steam. 7 June 2014 Dear all, We learned from Valve/Steam that they will be unable to continue merging DCS keys purchased outside of the Steam Store. As such and as of today, please note that any keys purchased outside of the Steam Store can no longer be used to activate DCS products on Steam. We will be working with Steam to merge all keys purchased prior to today. We can make no promises as to when or if this will happen though… that is out of our hands. Please note though that keys purchased on the Steam store will work on DCS World downloaded from the DCS Store. cichlidfan Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 (edited) Oh noooooooo. Thank you! So how would i go upon moving my DCS world files to their own directory instead of steam? You would have to download, and install, DCS World and the modules that you own, from ED's site. DCS World http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world/ Modules http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/ You can retrieve your keys from Steam, if you need to, but your registry already has the products activated so you should be good to go. EDIT: It should also pickup and use your existing Saved Games folder too.
