Yurgon Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 When my wingman calls out clock and distance to an object (or launch), is that relative to me or him? AFAIK it's relative to him. Very easy to tell when he goes evasive, thereby getting closer to, say, some MANPADs, and his calls go all around the clock... "Two, SAM launch, 2 o'clock. Two, engaged defensive. Two, SAM launch, 6 o'clock. Two, I'm hit! Two, SAM launch, 10 o'clock. Two, ejecting." :D
baltic_dragon Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Yep, relative to him. Makes no sense, really if you are further away from one another, unless you just corcle above him to watch his back (as good wingman should) :music_whistling: For more information, please visit my website. Wazoo Posted June 10, 2014 Author Posted June 10, 2014 Ok. Thanks. That is helpful. I was frantically checking out MY clock positions and usually finding nothing. i7-7700k eVGA 1080 Ti Win 10 Pro Samsung Odyssey WMR Warthog HOTAS
docfu Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Well, common sense would dictate if he's calling out to 3 other people in your squad he couldn't possibly get all of you in just one round...
Yurgon Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Well, common sense would dictate if he's calling out to 3 other people in your squad he couldn't possibly get all of you in just one round... Makes sense, but unless you know for sure, how could you tell that each of your squad mates does indeed get the same message? Can you be sure that the simulator engine doesn't call out bearings that are individual in regards to each of you? :smartass: For all I know, you're right that this is not the case, but common sense isn't necessarily the only/the perfect explanation to the behavior of DCS.
