GorT Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Have not flown piston a/c in DCS for quite a while I think I'd be best catching up on the P-51D procedures/ flying characteristics. I've forgotten almost everything :-O Don't ask me for advice on these Two Subjects: 1.. How to Take Off in the Dora! 2.. How to Land the Dora! UNLESS YOU WANT TO DIE!
Flyby Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 continue my escort duties I'll continue flying my trusty Emil with my mates of ACG_/JG26 in Cliffs of Dover. Campaign missions every Sunday. Also continue playing with DCS P51. I'm hoping to one day see the Dora have to take on the might of the Allied Air Forces over the Normandy map and beyond. Plenty of Mustangs, Spit XVIs, and Tempests to keep it interesting. JG26 takes on all comers (all in the name of good clean fun, of course!:D ) Flyby out The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.
Sceptre Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Glider? looks like one Probably my favourite thing to do, especially in New Zealand where the gliding spots are excellent :) RTX 2070 8GB | 32GB DDR4 2666 RAM | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 4.2Ghz | Asrock X570 | CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle | TM MFDs | TrackIR 5

WildBillKelsoe Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 looks like the chinese version of T-34C Turbomentor. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
Sceptre Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 reminds me of flying the Chipmunk :) RTX 2070 8GB | 32GB DDR4 2666 RAM | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 4.2Ghz | Asrock X570 | CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle | TM MFDs | TrackIR 5
leafer Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I was gonna say too beefy to be a glider. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

SkyJousler Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Practice Practice shooting it down with the P51!
Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Well, basically I finally decided to learn how to use the guns in the p51d, because during the 2 yrs I have been using DCS World, and bought all of the modules to support the cause, I only used the p51d, the uh-1h and the mi-8 for circuits around the airfields. Having been completely taken by the thrill of online air combat in IL2 BOS, I decided to start an identical career in DCS World. I found the "Dogs of War" server to be a great place to learn, but am also using the missions that come with DCS to learn the basics of air combat à lá ww2 style. So, lot's of things to fill my simmer time while I wait for the Fw190. Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...

So, lot's of things to fill my simmer time while I wait for the Fw190. Yeah, BOS did the same for me, so DCS might profit from that indirectly... ;) I can only imagine what will happen once DCS is more fleshed out in this area. In the meantime, I found ED´s Yo-Yo making a very interesting statement in the russian 190-section. It had been hinted at in other threads that some people of VEAO and ED had met up with a former 109 and 190 pilot in Duxford, Erich Brunotte, and Yo-Yo stated that they recorded an interview with him regarding the pilot´s procedures and techniques with the ultimate goal to release a short film: "Synchronizers already implemented in accordance with the circuit diagram and the principle of their work up to the width of the forbidden sectors and their number, so the effective rate of fire will vary depending on the rotor speed. However, synchronizers electric trigger Dora provide not too noticeable fluctuations in tempo. 13 mm to act as well as M2 and 12.7 mm. About color man asked the other day (Erich Brunotte), fought on the Messerschmitt and Dorah - he remembers a lot, up to paragraphs instructions, but about the color, in my opinion, he did not able to recall specific (although it is still out of my meager German understanding): fly, said quickly, Whack Whack ... By the way, 90 minutes recorded an interview with him, want to make a short film, however, the questions were mostly technical and pilot technique." With the Dora´s release around the corner I´m quite excited to see what´s gonna come from this. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Deedle, deedle!
Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Ah, thx for the quote from Yo-Yo upupandaway. Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...
fastfreddie Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 They should be tracking down all the WWii vets they can on all possible crafts that could be included. I can ask my stepfathers dad any questions they would have for a B24 rear gunner while he's still around (hint, hint). He'll be 90 in September but that generation is fading quickly. He's the last person left from his crew. To be honest ground crew could provide some great information about the availability and functions of a lot of craft.
