klem Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 ^^thx,...ah well i dont know.when considering Yo-Yo's comment from yesterday then i would say, no its not yet here.but today all of a sudden a box pops up stating that its ready for download...now that all just even more confusing :) Yes, under Module Manager it invites you to get it but it comes back after a few operations saying "Unknown Module BF109K-4". However, having tried it once, Module Manager no longer offers me the option, it just displays the 109K-4 as before with no pop-up to get it. :music_whistling: ......:smoke:........ :drunk: ....... .............. klem 56 RAF 'Firebirds' ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F mobo, i7 8086A @ 5.0 GHz with Corsair H115i watercooling, Gigabyte 2080Ti GAMING OC 11Gb GPU , 32Gb DDR4 RAM, 500Gb and 256Gb SSD SATA III 6Gb/s + 2TB , Pimax 8k Plus VR, TM Warthog Throttle, TM F18 Grip on Virpil WarBRD base, Windows 10 Home 64bit

Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) Well, while I wait for the K4, I am heaving a great time with my currently preferred WW2 flightsim, one that was completely unexpected in quality and immersion until I bought it a couple of weeks ago - IL2 CloD, moded with the TeamFusion patches! After the dismay with IL2 BOS, this was a very good surprise, and totally unexpected because I had read a lot of negative comments about it... A good complement to the DCS Warbirds for now! So, I will calmly wait for the K4's release :-) ... Edited November 19, 2014 by jcomm Removal of unnecessary comments... Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...

After the dismay with IL2 BOS, this was a very good surprise, and totally unexpected because I had read a lot of negative comments about it... So, playing CloD everyday now gives me plenty of space to wait for the K4. Also, I really look fwd to see this new bird arrive without that irritating deflected propwash effect which is killing my faith in DCS's prop flight dynamics, although at the same time, and being Yo-Yo the professional and quality developer he is, I am fighting myself trying to find some plausible reason for it to be modeled the way it is :-/ No offence intended, but in one breath you say you are enjoying CloD (which by the way I do from time to time myself when I need a Stuka fix) but in the next you say there are issues with ED's FM... well that just doesnt compute... Anyways... this is the K-4 thread, lets keep the focus there, we have the chit chat thread for generalized musings. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

Pilum Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 It will be very interesting to see how difficult mastering takeoff and landing will be in the K4 . Seeing the difficulties we had with the supposedly more docile Dora and making a projection based on this I guess we will see quite a few tracks ending with smoking craters and one or few threads on the subject of how correctly the K4's landing and takeoff characteristics are modelled.:joystick: But I could be wrong of course.......:music_whistling: Old Crow ECM motto: Those who talk don't know and those who know don't talk........ 9.JG27 DavidRed Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 ^^^you can count on me recording my very first take off and landing....with the dora it was no problem, curious about the 109!
Pilum Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 ^^^you can count on me recording my very first take off and landing....with the dora it was no problem, curious about the 109! Well when you compare the spindly gear on the 109 with the broad footprint of the 190 I guess we can look forward to a steep learning curve :smartass: Old Crow ECM motto: Those who talk don't know and those who know don't talk........ SlipBall Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) Yeah looking forward to seeing its ground handling, hope its not too tippy with use of the brakes...I read pilot reports that it was more stable then it was in IL-2(the game/sim) Edited November 19, 2014 by GT 5.0
Combat Wombat Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 You'll be fine if you only use one brake at a time )
SlipBall Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I didn't have a problem with using the brakes ,it was just an observation that the aircraft was tippy...pilot reports were opposite, so my post was that of hoping
arthuro12 Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I read some time ago they used to need some room for a good roll-out when landing, no brakes used.. just the resistance of the tires on the tarmac would slow em down. only after they get under +- 80 kph they would tap the brakes. Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 The 190 was never a problem for me. It's very docile and taxis just like I see it's RW counterparts performing. I assume the 109 being famous for it's touchiness on takeoff will most certainly make my life a lot more difficult at least during takeoff and landing ...
