canadabear07 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I have the a-10c but it seems too complicated. what is the best aircraft to purcahse that is still good in simulation but isn't as complicated and hard to learn as the a-10c? Thanks
Sel94 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 (edited) Well, FC3 aircraft are generally not as complicated as the full on sim DCS aircraft. You can even buy some of them separately for cheaper than the whole package if you don't want all the planes. However there is a good mix of aircraft in the whole package, so you might want to take a look at it. FC3 planes don't have a clicky cockpit though, so if you want that: The Sabre(not 100% done) looks pretty simple(I don't have it), it has a pretty limited and simple arsenal, good for dogfighting. If you want a chopper, they're really fun to use, but a bit harder to fly than planes. If you want to do combat in a chopper, in my opinion KA-50 is the only way, as the other choppers only have a limited ability to engage targets. In my opinion, everything else is going to be easier to learn than the A-10 in the beginning.(all aircraft are hard to master, but all the A-10 electronics can be a bit daunting to someone new) Hope this helps. Exorcet Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 FC3 will give you the A-10A, which you can think of as A-10C without click able cockpit, no TGP, and streamlined weapons/systems use. Honestly though the A-10C does not have to be terrible complicated. The worst part is probably trying to map all the buttons if you don't have a Warthog HOTAS. You can fly the 10C without TGP and pretty much ignore a lot of the higher level functions (which means no guided weapons expect Maverick) and you'll basically get the A-10A. FC3 also has some modern fighters. They're more complex than the A-10A, but not as complex as the 10C. You'll have to develop different skills to fly them though, radar especially. The F-86 is a pretty simple aircraft. Easy to fly, not much in the way of avionics except the gun radar. Think of it as a TF-51 (this comes free with DCS) that's faster, has a better gun sight, needs no engine management, and requires less trimming. Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
Sel94 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 how is the dcs p-51d? (In my opinion)Harder to fly than the A-10 in the beginning, and engine management is a thing for it. Pretty much everything else is much easier, start up is much faster, and way less things to click. It's really fun to fly and fight in, the one really bad thing in my opinion is that there's not a lot of WW2 stuff in DCS right now. There will be lots of WW2 stuff in DCS soon, but at the moment you won't have a lot of things to fight in the same era, if that's your thing. Also, you can try the TF-51 for free right now if you have DCS installed, it's pretty much a weapon-less version of the P-51.
canadabear07 Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 any other sugestions on what to get? Thanks for the replys
canadabear07 Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 this? and how long would it take to learn everything? http://store.steampowered.com/app/250300/
Kayos Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Don't get the steam version though. Stick with the regular download. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
kontiuka Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 this? and how long would it take to learn everything? http://store.steampowered.com/app/250300/You could probably get the basics down within a week. But then it's practice practice practice to become proficient at it.
canadabear07 Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 this version http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/eagle/ would it require dcs world to be installed?
Sel94 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 this version http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/eagle/ would it require dcs world to be installed? Yes, the way it works is that DCS World is the base program, then you 'plug in' the modules you buy into it.
mambo Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 F 15c only has simulated the flight model now, no the systems,no a study sim,WW2 planes easy systems but more difficult to fly like Huey, i think that Sabre is a good choice easy to fly and no complex systems. Anyway all them are awsome.
Soulres Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 this version http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/eagle/ would it require dcs world to be installed? DCS World Includes 2 FREE PLANES. TF-51D (P-51D Trainer no weapons) And the SU25T Russian Version of the A10C (but not nearly as complicated) If you like WW2 planes, P51D or the FW190D. B109K4 comes out this fall. If you like Jets that arenot too complicated (a10c is mostly computers) Buying the A10A (its like the Su25T) Or FC3(which comes with 6+ aircraft have the same detail as the SU25T) The F86f is VERY Simple, and its got the Full Cockpit (like the A10C) takes about 1 minute to start. Very simple but again, not much too it, Guns,Rockets Bombs. is all it has. If you dont know what your into,Try DCS World for awhile using the Trainer P51D and messing around in the Su25T. The A10C is probably the most Complicated DLC ED has put out so far.If you like the warthog Get the A10A (which is alot easier to fly and learn)
Call911 Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Yeah FC3 was alot easier, don't give up on the A10C it is very very rewarding over time IMO theres tons of tutorials/vids online for it.
canadabear07 Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 should i get the su-25 or the f-15c
GeorgeLKMT Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 should i get the su-25 or the f-15c If you're looking for less complicated aircraft, get FC3, seriously. It's worth whole as a package and it's currently on sale for 16 bucks! ;) Su-25 vs F-15C is kinda tough comparison, as one is ground pounder and other one dedicated A2A fighter. ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■
