I'd guess hardware problem. Almost certainly not game-related. I'd try reinstalling the drivers.

Yes, I'd also say either hardware problem or hardware DRIVER problem. I'd start with trying uninstalling video card drivers and reinstalling the latest ones.

Make sure DCS World options menu -> Disable aero interface = ticked!

Nope.If you don't order it to disable it in game or turn it off in Windows control panel continues to exist in the background.

not so I get better performance with it on.

AMD A8-5600K @ 4GHz, Radeon 7970 6Gig, 16 Gig Ram, Win 10 , 250 gig SSD, 40" Screen + 22 inch below, Track Ir, TMWH, Saitek combat pedals & a loose nut behind the stick :thumbup:

Good for you.:thumbup:Transparency is always a burden for gfx and cpu.. Exceptions i can't know.

When we were sorting out running Helios and exporting the images from MFD's etc we found that turning off Aero had the opposite effect we expected;) don't ask me how it just did.

So this Aero thingy is not always the resource hog you think.:thumbup:

I had similar problem that ended up being gpu overheating.

 

 

 

That is likely, also a poorly seated card can have that same effect.

This was a Boutique Builder iBuypower rig. Until I got the tinker bug again i7 920 @3.6Mhz 12Gig Corsair XMS3 ram 1600 Nvidia 760 SLi w/4Gig DDR5 Ram Intel 310 SSD HDD 160 Gb + Western Digital 4Terabyte HDD Creative SB X-Fi HD Audio Logitech X-530 5.1 Surround Speaker System Dual Acer 32"Monitors. PSU 1200 w Thermaltake Win10 64Bit.
