uboats Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 The option gives two choice: RU & EN If I recall correctly, only MiG-21bis supplies both R and E cockpit textures, while others only give either RU or EN. Or could ED move this options to special tab of each AC, and make it be able to recognize custom added texture folders like how the livery option works in ME? Then simmers can easily manage the cockpit texture mods. fitness88 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I think it has more to do with what you hear rather than what you see.
QuiGon Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 No, this option actually applies to the cockpits by changing the language of the texts and labels in the cockpit (on the switches and gauges). The MiG-21 isn't the only AC supporting that. It also works with the KA-50. I know about these two, because I use english cockpit language and those two are russian aircraft. But I think I also saw screenshots of A-10Cs with russian cockpit language. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

For example, if you select English, in the Su-25T, only the HUD will be in English. All the switches and dials will still be in Russian. I'm less familiar with the Ka-50 but I think only the ABRIS will be in English and even the HUD stays in Russian. Fully English cockpits are mods made by members of the community. Likely the same for that Russian A-10C cockpit.
Slazi Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Real men fly in Russian cockpits! Nothing quite like the feeling of not knowing what a button is going to do when you press it!

I'm only flying DCS-level AC, so I don't know how it is in the SU-25T or other FC3 AC but in the KA-50 and in the MiG-21 it also translates the instruments and the various labels of the switches. But yeah, there are still some cyrillic letters or words in some unimportant corners of those cockpits. Lusik Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 The setting in the options menu applies to DCS aircraft only. In FC3 only HUD is affected. http://eplatanie.wordpress.com/
