ED Team NineLine Posted November 6, 2014 ED Team Posted November 6, 2014 EOS gives range data beyond 10km? Sure, but depends on target aspect and if in they are in Afterburner or not. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
realistic_player Posted November 6, 2014 Author Posted November 6, 2014 Sure, but depends on target aspect and if in they are in Afterburner or not. even without afterburner I can lock more than 25km

ED Team NineLine Posted November 6, 2014 ED Team Posted November 6, 2014 even without afterburner I can lock more than 25km As Bignewy stated, attached a track, but I asked GG, and he said "The last rangefinder has a limited range. So he can lock however far, but should get no range info until the lrf can return it, or if the radar is used in a quick range only mid" Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
realistic_player Posted November 6, 2014 Author Posted November 6, 2014 save a track and attach it here. I could not get to lock the enemy more than 25km with eos , only connecting the radar
GGTharos Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 I don't believe you should get a range reading via LRF (you would have to employ the radar in its pretend-stealthy range-only mode) at that distance, but things are a little fudged in the game - also, I could be wrong :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Fri13 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 even without afterburner I can lock more than 25km Even with with afterburner, I can't lock to anything over 8-10km in clear optimal weather. What is reason why I don't actually ever use EOS than in dogfight (in other words, very close ranges). i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
Bimbac Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 According to some public information, Su-27 should be able to obtain range data while using EOS by switching radar in range-only mode, emitting short pulses, supposedly undetectable by conventional RWR, but I wasn't able to confirm this. I'm not sure if Su-27 is able to triangulate target position by using information from fighter-to-fighter datalink.

(EOS) to get additional information from the (DATALINK) . the F-15 should be using RADAR and ECM, but I wasn't able to confirm this.
