ED Team NineLine Posted December 6, 2014 ED Team Posted December 6, 2014 Wasn't Psy06 part of the RRG team who created the cockpit? Or was paid by RRG to create the cockpit? You don't remember this thread at MM? Either way it was an RRG product until ED took over. Credit where credit is due No, he is a modeller that works for a number of companies, including 777. fastfreddie Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 The weired thing with DCS aircraft is - for me at least - I like them even if ... I don't ... like ... them!? The Sabre, not my era, not my tech and I don't really like the looks ... but damn, she flies nice and I am having tons of fun with her! Same with the old warbirds. I am no propeller head (my airscrew has to be above me, not in front of me ...) and I am having a haaaard time learning the basics in the Fw190 and now also in the Bf109. They said, helos are not meant to fly ... but to kill you. Lol, those never sat in a WWII war plane! ;o) But again, by far not my era, by far not my tech (but I actually DO like the looks of them ... so ... MEAN ... :o). But "actually sitting in one" and it is a totally different thing. And this makes me appreciate way more and way better of everything related. For me, WWII always was grainy black&white footage with weired speaking people (nobody holds speeches nowadays anymore as "they" did back then ... whatever the reason for that is) and ancient technology. I didn't really expect the technological aspects of these birds to be so ... interesting. Yes, no digital circuits, no transistors, no ... anything. But boy, just because they used different stuff, it was not less advanced and usually goes way beyond my head. I actually love it. :o) Hop onto the DoW server sometime and I'll try to help you with the Dora. To be honest if you get good with the Dora the others released so far will be pretty easy to employ in combat.
rubblebeam Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 No, he is a modeller that works for a number of companies, including 777. I don't quite understand your head in the sand stance on this. ".... a number of companies including 777." one of those numerous companies being RRG Perhaps? Or at least commissioned by RRG. What's your problem with crediting RRG? RRG took a lot of flack on these forums. They made some mistakes but they also started this whole DCS:WW2 thing. Good Grief

RRG took a lot of flack on these forums. They made some mistakes but they also started this whole DCS:WW2 thing. RRG no longer exists.. honestly the only things I remember from RRG is the mess they left to be picked up. I dont feel RRG had much of a part, if any in what we have right now in the 109, or anything else coming... the 109 was early alpha when RRG folded... I would say 99% of the work to get it to where it is today was on ED. I believe the 109 was their "learning" module, to learn how to build aircraft for DCS... they didnt get very far. Honestly I have a feeling ED would have engaged in other era's eventually anyways, RRG was supposed to be like BST for WWII... it just failed miserably... Abburo Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 (edited) RRG unfortunately was unrealistic. This project was their second failure after Luthier IL2 CLOD failure too. Both projects were took over by other teams and we were just lucky that we have the final products, otherwise... they remain just suspended. That's why they took the flack here. On the other hand @rubblebeam... RRG worth be mentioned only as sort of a starter, but I am glad they are out because they were trying to create a sort of two independent products, with a kind of dual license or so. On the other hand , the P51 was made well before RRG, so let's not over-crediting them. As final words, things are going in the right direction now. Work speed have been increase, 3rd parties are in, new engine close and the latest modules have been fantastic... ALL of them. I had read on some other sites some strange attacks toward ED and their leadership some while ago, but the latest things evolution are just contradicting those frustrated ex-colaborators or whatever else were they! ED visions and their future plans are OK. Things are working at a normal human speed and not with typical american marketing bullshiting... To preserve the subject: I want also to hail ED team from A to Z ! You are doing a great job! HotPursuit Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 Yes, all three modules are works of art, especially the cockpits and flight models. ED goes the extra mile to maintain high standards. +1 Another superbly modeled aircraft  The WWII hanger is starting to fill up.
rrohde Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 I read somewhere that Adolf Galland once said how the 109 "fit like a glove" when comparing it to other planes of that era. I can honestly say that the DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst carries this notion fully. This plane is a joy to fly! So yes -- thank you Eagle Dynamics for yet another superb module! kazereal Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 I also have to express my gratitude to ED for picking this up and carrying it to the goal. Things could have gone a lot differently and at times the criticism were just beyond belief. In the end, despite what has happened, this legendary aircraft is there for us to enjoy. So thank you everyone who made this possible! "I would have written a shorter post, but I did not have the time."
