GKOver Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 With Lock-On there were some movie-like Track-files (as demos) included into the installation. Now I would like to get such Track-files again for creating a high quality HD-Video-file for demonstration purposes for my relatives and friends. Could somebody tell me where I can get actual and good Track-files? (Of course I have already tried it by searching in the internet....)
SFJackBauer Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 If you want to show them a video, then why not sending them some HD youtube video of DCS, or recording one yourself using FRAPS?
Flagrum Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 There are no such track files included. You can only fly a "movie like" mission on your own and save the track then. But if it is just for demo purposes, search youtube for already existing clips - there are plenty really good ones out there. Search for example for "glowing amraam", "binary orchestra" or "slamraam" for professionally made mini-movies. Example:
GKOver Posted December 26, 2014 Author Posted December 26, 2014 (edited) Of course I know Youtube, but I want a very good quality. Like Bluray and without any Artefacts. And also with 60 Frames per second. Later I would like to get 4K resolution.... Thanks anyway. Edited December 26, 2014 by GKOver
Art-J Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 You won't find what You're looking for then. I never played LOMAC, but in DCS, track files recorded with one version of the game usually do not play correctly with the next one, so nobody keeps them, because they get "broken" pretty soon. If You want to make some cool movies, You gonna have to play some missions yourself, record the tracks and capture them for editing later. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Good luck my friend!
GKOver Posted December 26, 2014 Author Posted December 26, 2014 I don't think that I am asking a lot. This Video-recording-function exists so many years (since Lock-On and unchanged). With this function, you can set the resolution and the FPS and also the compression. There are users who are also creating 3D-videos. Old Track-files seem to be compatible, the main problem are the maps which have changed. The videos of "binary orchestra" are really great..... I wouldn't be able to create such a Track-file.
Tone71 Posted December 27, 2014 Posted December 27, 2014 I'm not sure what you're after. If you want to record video, use Fraps, Dxtory, nVidia's ShadowPlay... If you want to save a replay (track file) you can do so after a mission, although it's not always guaranteed to play back correctly, especially after a DCS version change. Well, good short movies are not flown and recorded as a track in one go anyways. The results would be rather boring. These guys are deeply into video editing (with and without post-processing effects). Making good movies is not about having a good track. That would be like saying "all I need to be a good painter is having a beautiful model!" ;o) edit: I just realized that you are talking about the video rendering function to convert tracks into videos. Tbh, I never really tried it - mostly because it took AGES to render (perhaps I had choosen silly parameters, I don't know ...). But probably better, at least way more flexible, would be to use external recording software, as already said by others here. If you don't like a sequence, fly and record it again - instead of having turn around cycles of minutes if not hours. Edited December 27, 2014 by Flagrum

Nobody bothers with sharing trk or collecting them because they get more or less broken with every game update released. TRK to normal video conversion: It's possible to any resolution and at any FPS on a PC barely meeting minimum game requirements... with in-game settings maxed-out. Here's the main thread on the Record AVI Tool, as it used to be called. RECORD AVI - a Mission Editor tool And yes, there are more and more people uploading vids having less and less knowledge on basic video editing so most of the youtube vids from DCS do tend to look like kaka. El Hadji Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Save a track then reload it and capture the video with any capture software in 60 fps and 4K resolution if that is what you play on with info bar and icons turned off. Then import it to Sony Vegas or your preferred video editing tool and create Top Gun 2. I don't see the problem here to be honest.
