Lock On is slowly but surely vanishing from the radar

Hwg, let me guess - you feel warm and cosy with LOMAC - each to his own.

What is so complicated and outdated in your opinion? I'm just curious ...

Don't you read too well?

I said it was my opinion and that's your answer. Opinions, we all have them, get used to it ;)

Is that warm and cosy enough for you!

Good nite

I said it was my opinion and that's your answer, if you like Falcon 4, go play it but do not knock another game in the process!

Ok, somehow more civilized ;)

What is so complicated and outdated?

Graphics? Aionics? Campaign? Missiles? Gameplay?

Anything i've missed? Immersion, Multi Player, Buttons in the pit or what?

Have you ever thought what all these buttons and knobs are about in your

SU-27, Mig-29 or F-15 pit?

Posted
Really? I've never had a problem with immersion even when this sim line featured only the Su-27. Never had a problem with immesrsion when other a/c frames were added, either. Whatever cockpit I'm in, the hair on the back of my neck will stand on end when things aren't going as expected. My heart rate goes up. I've screwed up landings because my hands were still shaking after a tough mission. No. More aircraft do not automatically make a sim more immersive. More aircraft will provide more variety in mission types, etc. But that does not make it more immersive.

Yes it is, its Lockons advantage over other flightsims:cool: . By having other aircraft types you are expanding the possibilitys for other players. If a helicopter thrown in it becomes even better. The more people, more aircraft types plus VATC the bigger the immersion.

That's a very subjective issue. Personally I think that how immersive a sim is has got nothing what-so-ever to do with the number of flyable aircraft. It has everything to do with how the campaign engine handles the world outside the cockpit. It comes from hearing other flights on the comms, seeing other packages taking off and landing with real missions that , although beyond your personal control at that time, impact on what happens in the simulated environment you're operating in. Not to mention other "smaller" things like a proper day/night cycle, changing weather etc. It doesn't matter if you've got 1000 different flyable aircraft, if the world around you is sterile there is no immersion.

Also, the more flyable aircraft there are, unless the development effort is going to be farmed out to 3rd party builders, the less time the dev team have for each one. This leads to less realistic avionics, FM's, DM's. Guesses and best estimates replace research and that's the end of any sort of simulation. What you get instead is a game.

Not if each one is done properly, 3rd party 3d models yes, 3rd party cockpits yes, 3rd party avionics no. There are some good 3d models out there cockpits could also be a possibility.

I'm a realistic and this (lack of DC in LO) is not funny for me since a loooong time ago. It just the way it is.

And I think possible disgrace doesen't bother ED.

Yes, disgrace, because almost 10 years old titles had DC!

Okay come on, there's no need to be like that - how many other sim makers besides Falcon 4 team (that got themselves fired for their efforts) managed to make a DC?

Is it very important to you that the DC comes directly from ED? What do you think of SkyWars2?

IMO, they should fix all the bugs and make some of the things that should be in lock on, like a A2G Radar and munitions for the F-15 and make all the air-crafts have a advanced damage model, like the Su-25T, and just redue alot of things that UBI screwed up on, why would you release something that will cause more bugs, and problmes when you dont have some of them solved already... thats just my question, i think if you would update some things and do a little detail work on the mig's intakes like some people have said and redue the su-33 and 27 then i think alot of ppl would like it better, or even remodleing the cockpits... No offense to ED (idk what the means anyway... Im new to FC im used to flying crappy 1.02 i have been flying for about 6 months on FC) but i think you should listen to what the community says about adding things and what needs work more then adding a chopper like i have said in posts before that hasnt seen much activity at all... You should listen to what the ppl want, if you do what the ppl want, you will grow more. (Excluding the new pilots that are like "O well he didnt die i think you should make my missles ultra uber good", and just BS things read what ppl post and read what the replys say to it. and that will give you your answer as to what you should do next...)

Well do you or anyone else have a choice on that... no so i would assume thats the only answer i would get from ED.... doesnt listen to, to much else but o well...

ED has listened plenty. I'm also quite certain that CIS contracted ED to produce the Black Shark, and the employer's wishes tend to come first.

Pure speculation on my part, from some knowledge of how contracts work.

He also meant that the same Russian publisher paid for developing both add-ons for the CIS market , isn't it? Although I read somewhere that the Ka-50 was something that ED had in mind to do for some time.

At least I have my answers, and I suppose anyone reading the two threads I posted (nothing like a day off :D ) know were we stand vis-a-vis LOBS and what will or will not be , we have to understand that Eagle Dynamics has its way of doing things, and that is the way it is.

Now at least I know which one is going to be my next sim.

From what I can make out from this statement it seems to be speculation on your part, I know for a fact that ED has listened to the forums in the past..

And at present have made moves in directions to give us what were actually asking for...

Even though they're keeping silent, in most cases you can actually read between the lines here...

This company is extremley dynamic in they're thinking and no dought have some suprises in store..

After all, they are suviviours as they've been here for over 10 years and will be here for a lot longer in my opinon....

Bleak, all I have to say.

When 80% of the people playing online are in Migs, 15's and 27's. I hardly see how the KA-50 is going to save this sim.

Its down to the deeply dedicated and noobs as it is. And who really knows when BS is even comming. Then the long wait for the Falcon, or Tank killers will begin. It will be in the later part of a decade with LOMAC before we see "Tank killers". Then what?, any of these really going to change the deadness of LOMAC? I doubt not.

Oh and mentioned earlier, adding a mulitrole F-15 is going to offset the KA-50? Whatever...

The A2A/A2G balance has always been off with LOMAC just like IL2 "Forgotten Bombers".

I fly the vannila Su-25 and I'm hear to tell ya its no fun to even try to find a server to even offer the plane online. Much less, a real mission for it. And after 6 months with the KA-50 I'm sure it will be the same.

Please , swing kidz dont flame, the forums are already bad enough. I'm just dissapointed

This is really an important game to alot of people including myself.

Myabe so but if they want to keep some of the community around they should have everything under wraps... they should at least provide more test flights of BS and screenies of it as well... let us know how its been going...the BS news pages hasnt been updated for a month on how things are going... if it was me i would just give the public a little more info to keep them on there toes and to stay around... im sure some/alot of ppl are getting worried that its taking longer becuase things arent going right, i know i am... and i wonder why but dont get answer becuase a game is top secret... you see EA reporting to the public on whats going on and why its happening, and they tell there public why a new patch is release granted ED does that but still, you see sony doing the same.... even know they dont go into GREAT detial they at least give the public a gerneral idea of whats going on and how things are running with the game/product..... And something like this ED should give out a little more info on it, some screens of what has been done since the last time they let anything go and at least a new vid of the drone or an attack with the black shark and how it works... or just some thing to satisfy the public..

Well said even though i dont fly the 25 but i know exaclty what you mean with it and yea how will the 15 as a multiroll of set it... the Russains have every plane as a multiroll plus a chopper now... get real.... think about it...

The I suggest making mission fragments that can be imported using check-six's tools ... and ask people to include them in their missions.

The purpose of adding an F-15E (AI) is not to offset the Ka-50, but rather - to give the USAF realistic operations, and Lock On players realistic missions. The F-15E has been the primary USAF tactical aircraft since early 90s. Escorting it and intercepting it is what modern air combat is supposed to be all about. I can hardly create missions without it.. Especially realistic DC missions. :(

I remain convinced that online play is a virtually insignificant factor in LOMAC's success or failure. This isn't Quake and will never have mass online appeal (or offline for that matter).

Yes, I know many people love online play, and I've done a bit in the past (though not since Flanker1.5 and Adamski's ladder), but the vast majority of purchasers probably never fly online.

I still think it's important to have good network code, because it makes great icing on the cake, but it's how this sim performs offline which should lead development, otherwise the tail's wagging the dog.

I disagree, online functionality is key to any game/sim I buy, I would not buy a

game that did not have usable multiplay
