block ii Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Please remove the effect of black smoke in the turbines of the f-15C because it is not real I watched hundreds of videos F-15C , not even a video showed black smoke in the f-15C turbines I think there is no black smoke in the F-15C turbines in real life , I think this effect or better this defect should be corrected -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- F-15C without black smoke in the turbines -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- there is black smoke only on Russian planes sukhoi 27 / Mig 29 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- sukhoi -27 black smoke in the turbines https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4lE6HcBPxw -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mig-29 black smoke in the turbines --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

block ii Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 I think this has been corrected in the last update: ;) unfortunately the F-15 is still with black smoke in the turbines I'll be rooting for this to be corrected
GeorgeLKMT Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 You can always edit PlaneConst.lua if you wish, look for smokiness_level parameter. \DCS World\Scripts\Database\ ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■
joey45 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I think that effects all planes.... The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. GeorgeLKMT Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 (edited) There's a separate entry for every aircraft (and engine!), it has oves 6500 lines. F-15 is already on 0.1 (max is 1.0) which is really small amount, but it can go lower that that. Smoke off completely would be unrealistic because F-15 DOES smoke, especially at throttle change. 1:55 here: WA07I6t6hyg Edited January 17, 2015 by GeorgeLKMT 1 ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■
block ii Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 Smoke off completely would be unrealistic because F-15 DOES smoke, especially at throttle change. ok i agree with you But in game , the smoke effect is far from being equal to the real  I'll keep hoping that this effect is improved
SDsc0rch Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 yeah.. would be good to see the accuracy of the smoke modeling brought a little closer to observed performance also.. it "seems like" (maybe?) the engine smoke that causes a real FR hit when i'm taxiing behind another jet (normally an eagle) my frames go to sh#t ---- i've seen someone else in the forums here postulated recently its probably the code for the smoke that's doing it i'm hoping "someday" we'll get these issues dialed in a little better i7-4790K | Asus Sabertooth Z97 MkI | 16Gb DDR3 | EVGA GTX 980 | TM Warthog | MFG Crosswind | Panasonic TC-58AX800U [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

rrohde Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Well, seems as if they fixed the chimney smoke monster at Mineralye Vody, according to that changelog above.
