Hi to all ....

FPS problems encountered with the DCS C101EB....

I have noticeably lower framerates (about half of what I'm used to)

Block view for 6 seconds or more, a lot of effort to go to F1 and F2 more effort to look cockpit.

Install in DCSW OB version 1214.36041 and DCS 1214 36041

My configutations is:

Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GH

4 GB RAM

Win7 64 Bit

GTX 275 NVIDIA

Does anyone have an early solution?

What are your FPS normally and in the C101? And in which exact situations (at the parking spot? Which airfield? Or in the air?)

your system is under minimum requeriment:

Minimum system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows Vista, 7 or 8; CPU: Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz; RAM: 6 GB; Free hard disk space: 10 GB; Video: 512 MB RAM card, DirectX 9.0c - compatible; Sound: DirectX 9.0c - compatible; requires internet activation.

I have same processor, but overclocked at 3.0, is so easy, google and try it ;), you must buy more RAM too.

Anyway, C-101 is more fps killer than others modules, I got aprox. 15 fps less than average.

Good luck

Hi Flag and thank you for your support... :)

Normally FPS is 35 other modules A10C,MIg21,UH1 ,F86

In C101 is 2 or 3 max 15 FPS...

Situations when on parking or during in startup engine :(

In flight block view for 6 seconds or more...FPS is 15

Wow.

Does that happen at daytime, too? I encountered a slight FPS drop (~5) when using the cockpit lighting. But that drags me nowhere near down to 2...15 FPS (and is afaik a DCS 1 problem - let's hope for DCS 2!).

Hi Pira,

As far as I can tell, C-101 & Hawk are Not really FPS friendly. 3D models are heavy. Do NOT activate lights (int & ext).

Keep in mind they are in Beta stage, both teams have to work on optimization.

It's strange that you get half FPS in C-101 vis-a-vis MiG-21. Were you using the interior lights?

Btw you can upgrade that GTX 275 pretty cheaply now, for instance a GTX 750ti can be had for like 130 USD.

Gtx 275 compared to GTX 480 (big difference) http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/2010-gaming-graphics-charts-high-quality/compare,2463.html?prod%5B4504%5D=on&prod%5B4524%5D=on

And GTX 480 compared to GTX 750 Ti (750ti around 90-100% performance of GTX 480) http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1130?vs=1135

Pira,

another tweak you can do,

---> ...\DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\C-101\Shapes

replace the EDM file of the C-101 at LOD_0 ( C-101EB.EDM ) by C-101EBL03.EDM (LOD3) (!! make backup before)

--> see if you get improvement

LOD_2 & LOD_1 are still WIP (same level of detail as the LOD_0)

Same tweak for the earlier release of the MIG-21 with severe FPS hit.

We will try to optimize the module. Indeed LOD's it's something to do.

Thank you friends for support..

If you turn of the red light in Cocpit, You're frames will go up 5-10 fps. The red lights around the pit is nice, and you can twist them.. good looking. I love them. But they do eat fps for older GPU's. You turn on/off the lights on the right side panel.

Personally I will buy a new GPU when the DCS World 2 is out.

Happy flyeing :P

Hi,

This appears to be very dependent upon hardware. Some people may see a larger drop than others, depending upon their graphics card and graphics settings.

Best regards,

Tango.

It's interesting - we have found that regardless of the initial FPS, the drop is up to 50% of whatever you started with.

Note that the issue is related to how 3D lights are rendered in the sim, and is not related to the aircraft.

For the red spot lamps, the C-101 is using 5 lights. The storm lights are using only 2 lights (7 total). The other panel lighting should not have an FPS impact.

Best regards,

Tango.
