Einherjer Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Since the last patch, the bombs seems to be stronger ?! With the MiG -21 I can make significant demage with 2x FAB 250 ( before I wasn't able to kill a bicycle if I don't hit it directly) and the BL755 have a nice spread and man make enough boom, to kill 14 fuel trucks in one run... Maybe I just imagine the results?! Edit: Bomb_common.sch and bomb_common.sch.lyt was edited in the last update - are there any details? Edited March 11, 2015 by Einherjer
ricktoberfest Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Which patch? This would be great as mk82 bombs required pretty much a dead on hit before.
Blooze Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I just flew a mission that I made in which it used to take at least 2 MK82s to destroy a ship. Now only one will do it, so it seems like confirmation of the OPs question, with this mission at least. Another thing that changed in the same mission is that I have a single explosion triggered to destroy a SA13 near some fuel tanks. It used to just destroy the SA13, now the same explosion takes out 3 of the fuel tanks as well. I had to move it farther away to prevent this from happening again. Things have changed with the last update but you don't ever know just how it will effect a mission until you fly it. There's always a few surprises in store with every update and it seems that one can only expect a mission to remain as intended until the next update arrives. Oh well, at least it gives me something to look forward to. :music_whistling: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Ultra Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 This should really improve gameplay. Some weapons felt too weak. Also, the bigger explosions make up for the lack of fragmentation damage.
Flagrum Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Larger blast effect is no adequate substitute for fragmentation damage modelling ... the effects and effectiveness differ for different target types. Edited March 11, 2015 by Flagrum
Ultra Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I agree it's not ideal, but I'm satisfied with this as a temporary fix or step in the right direction, whatever you want to call it.
Paradox Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Does the same apply to rockets do you think? I can't test it at the moment.

rcjonessnp175 Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Did anyone officially say that is what this is?? Well what is the answer here then as change logs are very vague as many changes are never listed. What was specifically changed per weapon system could we get any info on that? ED Team NineLine Posted March 11, 2015 ED Team Posted March 11, 2015 Asked and they said they tweaked ballistics and explosive weight only for FAB-50 and FAB-100 in the last patch. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Ultra Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Well I guess disregard everything I said then. :megalol:
Blooze Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 With all due respect to ED I think we have all seen many instances of unintended consequences included in updates in the past and considering that the only change that occurred with my mission was the introduction of an update, I believe this is just one more example. Einherjer Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 I talk about 1.2.15 . And what's about the cluster bombs? They have an heavyer effect, explotions are way larger (see thread about the CBU issues ) and I swear - something changed ( even the explosion FX is overworked )
Flagrum Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Did anyone officially say that is what this is?? No, but someone seemed to be more or less satisfied with it.

Flagrum Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 With what lol... the imaginary fix to no fragmentation? My posting was meant as reply to Ultra, directly above it. He said that boosting the blast effect - as it seemed it was at that point in the thread - were a step into the right direction. Which is not. That is all I was trying to say. edit: ... which would be not ...
Einherjer Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Cluster bombs was a known issue with 1.2.15. Yeah I know, but since this update, the other bombs are... Stronger Are you sure they really don't tweaked the bombs? (since 1.2.15)

Einherjer Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 That's strange, or did you asked for 1.2.16, which was for the FAB 50/100 corrections
ED Team NineLine Posted March 11, 2015 ED Team Posted March 11, 2015 I pointed the dev to this thread and asked if anything changed, I was referencing 1.2.16. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Blooze Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Not to be argumentative but I was referring to the 1.2.15 update. I am not using the beta. Edited March 11, 2015 by Blooze [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Flagrum Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Afaik there were no changes in the definition of the existing standard ordnances, neither with 1.2.15 nor .16 in the LUA code. Theoretically it is probably possible to tune them in the binary code (where the values set in the lua code are interpreted and then used for the calculations), but that seems very unlikely to me.
